Rain Internet Service Provider is questionable
Dear Hellopeter Since January 2022, Rain has been billing me erroneously. I have written the following email with no relief: #*** - Web-Billing *** My invoices are the query I submit for help. I only upgraded to a 5G premium in January and paid R999. Then I immediately downgraded to a 5G basic home for R499. I did not stay long on the premium because it was worse than the Off-pick unlimited for R250 but I was charged R1008.00, I am not sure for what because I had downgraded in the same month. On 14 March I paid an additional R259.00 because my internet was shut down. This amount is not shown in my billing history. Why? 1. Please can I get clarity as to how Rain works lately 2. How can I get relief. I thought my bill should be a clean R499 a month just as I was paying R250 a month on the Off-pick unlimited. There were hidden costs and my bill was not oscillating. 3. How will the money be refunded?.
Follow up emails were sent and responded to automatically with the following Log tickets: #*** date 22/04/01 #*** date 22/04/04 #*** same 22/04/04 #*** date 22/04/06
However, no communication ever came from Rain to address the query. The Billing history looks like this: payment history
Date Amount
30 April 2022 R749.00 31 March 2022 R740.94 28 February 2022 R1,008.00 31 January 2022 R250.00 31 January 2022 R999.00 invoices
Instead of paying R499 a month for the 5G upgrade, I also pay R250 for the 4G upgraded plan which should have been automatically cancelled.
In one of the emails I requested Rain to cancel the 4G plan, they still have not judging from the billing history above. This is disconcerting. There has been no response from Rain despite promises to get me help.
I am posting this as a last resort to recover the money billed for a service I do not receive. JS
