Rain internet at 0.6 megabits instead of 30 - over a week now!
My 5G has been useless (0.6 megabits where i should get 30 megabits) for over a week and no attempt at fixing, restarting or contacting them has gotten any action. I've been a customer from the start and get completely ignored. I would not recomment RAIN to anyone. There's no problem with payment though - they're happy to get the full price but service apparently doesn't need to be working. At one point I was getting 474 BYTES per second!!! Even the tiny amount of data used by whatsapp could not use that.

Just switched off the router for more than 10 minutes and its the same thing. 0.7 megabits. I have restarted it and turned it off for more than 10 minutes multiple times over the last 8 or 9 days with no success. I do see the light turn blue every now and then (4g fai*****) but its just for a moment and then back to 5g with no change. I'm not surprised that this happens if there is a tower out but the tower being out for over a week seems sketchy. I don't see thAt a tower will be down more than a day or 2 but that's just my opinion. Problem persists.

23 Nov 2024, 15:40Rain, just so you know... there is a 4g tower a block away just outside my window and the 4g does not connect to it. Even if I can get 10 megabits till the problem is resolved. If you check your map, that tower is about 200m east of my address. I am fine using 4g - I just need a decent connection and 10 megs is fine for a few days. I was specifically given this router (tall round exterior one) because of this problem in the past and was told it has a 4g fail over for times like this.

Rain, just so you know... there is a 4g tower a block away just outside my window and the 4g does not connect to it. Even if I can get 10 megabits till the problem is resolved. If you check your map, that tower is about 200m east of my address. I am fine using 4g - I just need a decent connection and 10 megs is fine for a few days. I was specifically given this router (tall round exterior one) because of this problem in the past and was told it has a 4g fail over for times like this.

23 Nov 2024, 17:09Rain - I have set up the router on the north east side of the building and faced it in the same direction (its round though) and still no joy. 0.5 megabit with the SA setting. The router indicates 5g though and not 4g - the light is green and not blue.

23 Nov 2024, 17:17Rain - I have my own personal 4g router in a box somewhere. Can I put the 5g simcard into it and test that.... maybe it works better. Just throwing out an idea there.
