Rain dishonestly debiting account for a cancelled service, despite cancellation confirmation.
I had been using rain as my wifi service provider from about 2024 and in Oct - November 2025, I started experiencing bad service from them. Since I needed good wifi connection for my work I alerted Rain to the bad wifi service. They undertook to attend to it and over the ;succeeding weeks, I logged a few calls with rain based on their bad network. Eventually I threated to leave and use another service provider, hoping that this would get them to fix the network issue. This did not happen.
I eventually settled with another service provider and communicated my cancelation of the Rain service on 25 November 2025. My cancelation notice was acknowledged and allocated ticket no: #***4. I beleived this was it, as I did not hear from Rain on the cancelation.
However I would receive early payment invitations almost weekly, which I would respond by advising that I had terminated the services and would not be making any payment. This would result in unpleasant and frustrating back and forth, clearly aimed at frustrating the cancelation and siphoning money out of my account Rain wasnt entittled to and that was not due to them.
This back and forth went on till on 22 December 2025, when I eventually received communication that the cancelation had been finalised and that my service had been cancelled. It is because of this that I did not question the december debit, as I thought maybe the December 2025 debit was the last one.
Lo and behold Rain proceeded to debit my account again in January 2026. I have been incontact with Rain trying to get them to stop debiting my account over a service that was cancelled and confirmed so by them but am being frustrated with acknowledgements and undertakings to revert to me or to escalate the matter, but never seem to materialise.
I have demanded a refund of the January debit but once again am being frustrated with them sending me a message that suggests that the cancellation is only now being effected, in a dubious effort to undully retain the January debited funds and avoid refunding the money.
This entire experience has led me to realise that Rain does not deal with clients in good faith and that their conduct in respect of my case has been nothing but bad faith dealings. I had beleived that as a company Rain would uphold good, standards and reputation, but it would appear to me that this is far from it and the manner in which the contact agents employed to interact with clients carry themselves out is shockingly dishonest and deliberately frustrate legal processes that they ought to uphold in terms of the Consumer protection laws.
We're really sorry your rain experience hasn't been as good as you expected.
We're going to get on this asap.
Thank you.
