Rain Billing Me After Cancellation & Unusable Service – No Response to Requests

I am extremely frustrated with Rain and their handling of my account.

I cancelled my service in February 2026 due to ongoing network issues that started in January. Throughout both January and February, I consistently received messages from Rain apologising for network outages, yet the service remained unreliable. I work remotely, and during February in particular, there were multiple instances where I had little to no usable connectivity on my Rain SIM. This forced me to spend additional money on mobile data and work from alternative locations just to do my job. Despite this, I was billed as normal.

I made a full payment of R819 on 25 February 2026, which brought my account balance to zero. My understanding, based on both the billing pattern and confirmation from a Rain agent, was that my cancellation would take effect from 1 March 2026. At no point was I informed that I would still be charged for March.

However, a new invoice was generated on 1 March 2026, and I am now being pursued for another R819. This is despite the fact that my service was already cancelled. A support ticket logged on my account even states that the account is “Normal” and that the outstanding balance may be due to a billing error. Yet I continue to receive payment reminder messages, and no clear resolution has been provided.

I have formally requested the following from Rain, which I am fully within my rights to request as a customer:

• A clear billing breakdown showing exactly what period each payment covers • Confirmation of why I am being billed after cancellation • Network performance/log reports for January and February to validate the service issues • Records of communication relating to the outage messages sent to me • Immediate cessation of payment reminders • Deletion of my PII

To date, I have not received all the requested information, only the statement with no proper response. It is completely unreasonable to expect payment for a service that was consistently unreliable and effectively unusable, a billing period after cancellation was confirmed and a charge that their own support team has flagged as a possible error. This situation reflects poor service delivery, lack of transparency, and unfair billing practices.

I expect Rain to urgently resolve this matter, reverse the incorrect charges, and provide the requested documentation without further delay.
