Rain billed me after cancellation and failed to resolve issue
On 28 April at around 10am, I visited a Rain store to cancel my subscription. I was assured that no further debit would be processed. Later that same day, my internet access was cut off.
I contacted Rain’s call centre to query this. On 28th April , I spoke to a consultant named Liya who informed me that my line could not be reopened and that I would need to return to the store, despite already having travelled a long distance to cancel in person.
I raised concerns about being billed unfairly. Initially, I was told I would be reimbursed R37 for two days, with no clear explanation of how this amount was calculated. After further discussion and escalation, I was told I would be refunded R53, but no banking details were confirmed.
Despite all of this, I have now been billed R517.
This is unacceptable: - I cancelled in person and was assured no further billing would occur. - My service was cut off the same day. - I have received inconsistent information regarding refunds. - I have now been billed a significant amount without justification.
I request: 1. Immediate reversal/refund of the R517 billed. 2. Written confirmation that my subscription has been fully cancelled. 3. Clear explanation of billing and refund calculations.
If this matter is not resolved urgently, I will escalate it further to the relevant regulatory bodies.
I expect prompt resolution.
