RAIN - Bad Support and No Coverage
I opted to purchase a rain simcard last month because of their fluid advertising on unlimited data. I first checked for coverage in my area and the website confirmed that the RAIN network services my area with LTE. i then proceeded to purchase their sim-card at R479. After which i received delivery. I inserted the sim-card and there was a stagnant RED light. which means there was no coverage. I sent an email for support on the 1st of July (RAIN sent a confirmation email stating a response time of 24-48hrs) and by the 13th of July i had to send their support service another email to follow up on assistance. I then received an email from the consultant to change the device settings on my router. So i decided to bring my router to work (in the north of Durban), i configured the settings and the coverage worked. However i took the router back home and there was no coverage. So i sent another email to RAIN support with screen shots and pics to show that the service does not work in my areas as they said it would. Since then it is almost a month later i have not received any feedback from rain. I sent another email on the 23rd of July requesting for a refund because the service does not work in my area. I have not received any feedback or assistance. I still have the non working sim-card. My bank account was charged a pro-rata amount for the time i had activated the sim-card and i have lost R479 to RAIN as their service does not work as their website shows it does. At this point i just want my refund and they can have their sim-card back thats all i want.
