Rain aren't rated as one of the worst ISP's in SA for nothing.

They aren't rated one of the worst ISP's in the country for nothing!!!! I'm writing this after being on hold for twenty minutes waiting to speak to a Rain agent, this after writing an email to them today and have yet to receive a response. My honest review follows. I signed up with them in January 2019 and have had a solidly great time with them for 6-8 months. During the past 4 months, the speeds have degraded so much that its convinced me to cancel the service with them. It is really sad because this had so much of promise but its sick as to what they've allowed to happen to their company. Their customer service is nonexistent, their technical staff sound like ordinary call center folks that were given a fancy title. I could go on and on about their shortcomings but instead I will focus on the part that infuriates me the most. Rain knew that this would happen and they followed their greed instead of taking care of their customers. And the beautiful part is that their "fix" is 5G, a product that costs 4 times as what we're currently paying and requires the purchase(?) of a 5G modem. Their message is you're *****ed if you stay on 4G so pay them an extra R750 for their 5G network. They will not upgrade or maintain the 5G network but will spend a ton on marketing. Sales will go up, network will become constrained and we'll be right back where we are right now with 4G. I've set a 500mb update for a game on my Playstation at 4pm, currently I've managed to download 184.9MB. My advice is stay away from anything that has the company Rain attached to it. Voting with your wallet is the only thing that will change this company's principles.
