PLEASE JUST DONT SIGN UP

Oh, the sheer joy of revisiting the golden age of Telkom ADSL! Seriously, if you’re even remotely considering signing up for this service, do yourself a favor and think again. You’ll hand over your money upfront, and they’ll sweetly promise you delivery in 3 to 5 working days. But surprise, surprise! They seem to be blissfully unaware that South Africa has nine provinces and that living outside of Gauteng might, just might, mean an extra delay. Even if you’re practically next door to your province’s capital, don’t hold your breath.

And heavens, don’t expect any help in an emergency. Sending your own courier? Not a chance. Apparently, a major tech company like RAIN hasn’t quite gotten the memo that we’re in the 21st century. The RICA process is as ancient as dial-up internet and not even remotely streamlined. You’d think by now, with all this modern tech, you could just show a driver’s license and be done with it. But no, you’re stuck with archaic paperwork because, shocker, a digital copy of your ID isn’t good enough for them.

Last week I received a sms of delivery for Friday the 23rd between 12:00 and 16:00. Not even a phone call . I waited at the delivery destination for close to an hour without a phone call. I am sure RAIN can see on the system that my service is not active yet 10 days after paying pro rata . But they don't seem to care because its very easy to avoid responsibility by just moving it to the couriers and forgetting about the client . They fail to understand that we don't sign up to the couriers we sign up to a RAIN service
