No support, No signal

I subscribed to the 5G Premium plan for R999 a month on 29 April 2020. I received my CPE a day later which was fantastic and had me all hyped up. I get home and now I try to use activate.rain.co.za. Several hours wasted over the long weekend from 30 April 2020 to 4 May 2020 which I spent putting the router in various points in the flats and on several areas of the roof on which I still get no signal. I sent emails on 30 April 2020 asking whether the sim is indeed installed in the 5G router as claimed by the box as I started my troubleshooting - ***. I followed up on 4 May 2020 *** as well as 8 May 2020 ***. In the last email I stated clearly that if nothing is done I will, as is my right, cancel the debit order as I will not be billed for a service I cannot utilise especially for R999. The only response I get are automated email saying "We've seen your query" and "a rain agent will response (they probably meant respond) to your query in the coming days". No timeline or estimation given. The call centre is offline due to the lockdown, even though services like Vodacom have 30% staff at their call centres. The chat function is also disabled so no route except emails are open.

The message I sent after the long weekend read as follows:

Good day, I have received my device but cannot pick-up any signal. I tried putting the device on the roof and tested it inside the flats but no luck. I have been trying to get signal since Thursday 30 April, 2020. When I go to activate.rain.co.za, it diverts to optimise.rain.co.za and varies between no signal and poor signal? We live on the bottom end of a hill and the tower appears to be on the other side of the hill. We are also surrounded by large trees and huge building as it is a panhandle shaped yard.

So I received the following feedback from RAIN which does not at all address my query. How am I supposed to get any "speed" with no signal?? This appears to be a auto-response or a copy and paste message as I have seen this message numerous times on various forums.

you need to try speed.rain.co.za

this is allow you to see what speed you are getting and we need to try get that above 80 mbps to active

once we an see the speed on speed.rain.co.za we can then go onto activate.rain.co.za to activate your 5G

try finding the spot with the best speed using speed.rain.co.za then move the router 10 - 15 degrees at a time and take a speed test every time to see what we can get

Thanks,

Cassy G
