No rain here...

What a ****. Rain advertises "LTE Speeds" on it's website. All I got over the last 3 weeks was a maximum of 3Mbs download. That is not even enough to watch a YouTube video. 3G is 21Mbs, HSDPA is 48Mbs. LTE is supposed to be 100Mbs. LTE-A is supposed to be 150Mbs. Being a shared bandwidth, I do realise that one will not expect to achieve the full speed. 50Mbs would be more than acceptable. Even after escalating the problem several times, I was not once contacted with feedback. My LTE contract with Telkom gives me about 40Mbs download, even though I am 200m outside their coverage, according to their map. Testing Telkom against rain in Minnebron, Brakpan, last weekend at my granddaughters house, I got 102Mbs for Telkom and about 2.5Mbs for rain. I would definitely not recommend rain to anyone. Do not be fooled by their unlimited offering. It is only good for downloading small emails.
