No internet but still in arrears

I haven't been paying and using rain for more than 3 months now and im receiving SMSs and emails that I'm in arrears. How can i be in arrears when their services is a month to month basis meaning if i don't pay, i won't have internet access. The only call i received from rain was when a sales agent sold me their product. And am very unhappy with their services and operation.
