INCORRECT BILLING ON CANCELLED RAIN CONTRACT - PERSONAL INFORMATION COMPROMISE - ***

I cancelled my contract in April 2023,

However recently received a notification that I owe R2495, it means our details are not safe on the rain platform/ i have been incorrectly billed does not make sense that after 14 months of having cancelled my contract i am in arrears of R2495.

Also my contract was on a debit order basis before i cancelled - however there has been no failed debit orders to rain on my bank account. Which means sim card was *****ulently activated using my details.

I tried to email rain however the email is blocked (***).

I need this resolved as it is affecting my credit score.

Hi,I appreciate the recent call and the opportunity to discuss the matter at hand.

However, I must express that the issue is more complex than the response provided. I want to reiterate that I informed the consultant of my cancellation of the contract in early 2023. Subsequently, she requested proof of this cancellation. In response, I explained that Rain's web portal does not generate any form of notification, whether via email, SMS, or other means, confirming the cancellation. Thus, as a Rain customer, I am unable to provide tangible proof of cancellation. To illustrate this point, I mentioned that I cancelled again this morning in light of the situation, yet I received no proof of this cancellation.

Furthermore, during our discussion, I raised two additional concerns:

  1. I questioned why, if there is no record of cancellation, there have been no invoices generated from April 2023 until the present. The consultant assured me that she would provide an explanation for this via email.
  2. I inquired about Rain's failure to attempt to debit my account for the two months of outstanding payment at the time. The response I received was that it is my responsibility to ensure Rain receives payment, even with a debit order arrangement in place. Additionally, the consultant claimed that Rain had attempted to debit my account but was unsuccessful due to insufficient funds. However, I find this assertion inaccurate, as my bank would have notified me of any failed debit orders.

In summary, I remain dissatisfied with the explanations provided regarding the situation. I urge for a thorough investigation and a resolution that addresses the concerns raised.

Thank you for your attention to this matter.Sincerely, Thando Nkalitshana
