I signed up with Rain only because I was repeatedly assured by their operator, at least five separate times, that the service supports a static public IP. After testing the service, that turned out to be false. What is most frustrating is not just the lack of the feature, but the repeated confident misrepresentation of it. Instead of checking with a technical team, I was simply told “yes” over and over. That is not acceptable when customers are making decisions based on technical requirements. If your use case depends on anything even slightly technical, be very careful. Based on my experience, Rain’s sales/support staff may give inaccurate information just to close the sale.
