HELD to RANSOM by RAIN

Be careful of Rain. Advertise month to month offers but they are not Prepaid offers you have signed a subscription with a 1 months notice period. You don't get any documentation to confirm that this is a subscription and not a pre -aid offer. It is all hidden in their terms and conditions. When use stop using Rain because their product is terrible and doesn't work. Guess what they will bill you for at least 1 more month. I took Rain to use for data for my children's home schooling during Covid. Stopped using the service in June 2021 because speeds where terrible, signal was terrible. It just didn't work. I was billed for the Month of July 2021 unknown to me. Now in April of 2023 my account has been handed over to Eastern Berry Attorneys. I am now liable for an amount of approx. R580.00 excl. attorney's collection fees. The attorney representative is trying to force me to telephonically acknowledge the debt before they will disclose the amounts? They also did not advise me at the outset of the call, that the call is being voice recorded? When I advised repeatedly that I would pay the outstanding amounts, but I will not acknowledge the debt, I was told they could not proceed to give me the amount or the details to make payment. They (attorney) cannot access their system unless I acknowledge the debt amount. I am being held to ransom to pay an outstanding amount which they cannot disclose unless I acknowledge the debt amount. How can I be coerced into paying an amount that is not disclosed upfront before I acknowledge the debt amount? How can a consumer of a product that doesn't work be held to ransom. Not only must I pay for another month of service, I must also pay Attorney's fees and interest since July 2021. I have received no word written or otherwise from Rain since July 2021 regarding outstanding monies? I am not sure if these debt collection procedures are *******, but they sure are ************.
