False claims about 4G backup for 5G packages.

Never be tempted by any of Rain's marketing or low prices, this company is effectively a ****. Their 5G towers always go down during load shedding, and even though they recently instituted a change where you could stay connected to their 4G towers when this happens (which, by the way, they insisted for the longest time was impossible and pretended that it had never happened in the past despite this being an option in 2020), it connects you to a 4G tower that is much too far away from you, even though the 4G sim connects to the one that is closest to you and carries you through load shedding without any issues. I believe they do this because they want to force you to get the 4G sim as well, so they can milk you dry. Customer support is useless and just say they'll try and reset the router, to no effect. I don't believe that it's impossible for them to manually configure which tower they need to connect me to, and they have a proven track record of lying, because for the longest time, they insisted 4G backup was, itself, impossible. I ordered this 5G sim on the 2nd day of February, because I was ******** by a MyBroadband article saying they now had 4G backup, and I regret that decision vehemently. Even though I've not been able to use this piece of junk until yesterday because the 5G was always down until it miraculously recovered yesterday, the 5th of January, when I try and phone customer care to cancel and refund the money I paid for this worthless junk, they tell me that they can't put me through to the cancellation department, they have to send an email, and that I won't be able to get my money back.

I cannot say this enough: AVOID RAIN LIKE THE PLAGUE. YOU WILL ALWAYS GET *****ED OVER, **** TO AND ******.
