Disorganized agents and services

Had called in two months back, September, to query an issue, which I didn't receive any help with, and cancel my account. Agent told me the account had been cancelled and yet I now receive notification of a late payment. Additionally when I call the call centre, all I get is a robot saying I owe money. Why am I supposed to pay for an account that's supposed to be cancelled. Very disorganized services.
