Difficulty in cancelation of account

I understood that rain is not a fixed-term contract but it's a month-to-month. I stopped using Rain last year in January and in that month they debited and did not get funds, I would assume from the following month they would stop the account and not add any further funds as the obligation was not met. I unplugged the router I now to fibre as the rain network was not that good where I stayed and rain continued to charge this account that was not active. I wrote an email to Rain to stop adding monthly premiums I would like to cancel I told them I would pay the R2500 even though I did not use their services. Rain decided to take my account to Nu Debt Collector in October I stood by my word to still agree to pay the money in R500 every month that is how they accumulated the R2500. since November I have been paying R500 and I logged in the rain to check if they reduced I was surprised that I owe them R1700 whereas I paid R1500 and owe them R1000.

to start with Rain never called me, I started the process by requesting them to stop adding premiums to an account that is not active, Secondly, rain took the account to a debt collector without even informing me, 3 I feel de*****ed by the two companies who even after paying and sending them proof of payments they still not crediting the account. I need Rain and Nu Debt to kindly stop what they are doing and lying about contacting me when they never did they send emails only closer to month's end when I respond and call I am told it will be fixed or the account is closed but reflects something else when I login into the account and the amount from emails is also different. all I can say is get into the rain at your own risk.

email I received yesterday after I contacted them, calling them has never assisted me. app communication for a person who is not using your services any more is not an effective way of reaching clients for whom you have their email and contact number. based on the email response below it means I must contact you over and over again for Rain to resolve such a small issue.

I really look forward to really being contacted and resolving this as urgent as possible. There was really no need for such a drag and while I agreed to pay the outstanding amount even when I did not use the service as i understood the effects it would have on my credit profile.
