CONTACT AND LODGE ALL YOUR RAIN COMPLAINTS AT ICASA
DON’T BE THEIR SUCKER OR VICTIM – FIGHT BACK (CHECK ALL PREVIOUS COMPLAINTS - YOUR NOT THE ONLY ONE) IT IS HOW THEY OPERATE THE GREATER THE NUMBER OF PEOPLE APPROACH ICASA THE MORE CHANCES OF WINNING COMPLAINTS AGAINST TELECOMMUNICATIONS SERVICE PROVIDERS Quality-of-service complaints, such as complaints about network coverage; dropped calls; line installation, activation, transfer and suspension; ADSL; mobile-number portability or suspension of service Complaints about the billing of data services, voice services and international roaming HOW RAIN RIPS YOU OFF They will give you a contract of say 10MBPS as in the unlimited 4G but look closely what they offering is speeds of up to 10MBPS, it is not 10MBPS guaranteed. So even if you have unlimited data plan, they will control your speed, thereby controlling your data usage, that is why you end up spending 10 mins just open a WhatsApp picture. They achieve this using what is called bandwidth throttling. On a legimate use throttling is used to regulate network traffic and minimize bandwidth congestion but know that rain can use this against you to subsidise a high value contract (whose contract generates more revenue to rain than yours). This is not about network coverage, believe me I stay less than 2 KM from their nearest cell tower If you don’t live in a fancy suburb or stay in a location you can also be discriminated against by having your bandwidth throttled. Should you complain on hellopeter, they will give you some bandwidth for a 1 or 2 days and after that you are back square one. RAIN COVID ******* We all know many companies and schools are using virtual application e.g. zoom, MS Teams and for many people data is expensive, so for rain this is just a get rich scheme of promising unlimited data were technically they will control your speed by throttling your bandwidth and there by limited your data usage to lowest possible amount. IS IT ETHICAL TO PROMISE TO GIVE YOU SPEED OF UP TO 10MBPS when in fact you should be grateful and lucky if they give you 1 MBPS? COMPLAINTS AGAINST PROVIDERS OF TELECOMMUNICATIONS AND POSTAL SERVICES You must first lodge a complaint with your service provider and get a reference number for your complaint (it's very important to make sure the service provider issues you with a reference number) Allow the service provider 14 working days to resolve the complaint You may only refer your complaint to ICASA after completing the above process and only if the service provider does not resolve your complaint within 14 working days or if the response from the service provider is not satisfactory Complaints must be in writing and can be lodged directly on the ICASA website or a complaints form can be completed and emailed to *********** or faxed to ********** Complaints may also be sent via post or lodged by simply walking into any ICASA office (it’s important to remember that complainants who come to our offices to lodge a complaint will still be required to put their complaint in writing) INFORMATION IS POWER SEND THIS TO AS MANY PEOPLE AS POSSIBLE FIGHT BACK
