Company negligence placing customer in dept

If I could rate this place with a minus I would have, I haven't had Rain for about 3-4 years. According to my knowledge it was cancelled back in 2021 and the all of the the sudden out of no where I get a enormous bill and saying they have no record of the cancellation and when I asked why wasn't I notified sooner they simply don't answer. How can a client be liable for a company's negligence.
