Cancelled April 2025. Billed R7,215. 19+ unauthorised card attempts. NCC & PASA complaints filed.
I cancelled my Rain subscription on 18 April 2025 in writing. What followed over the next 13 months: Rain issued 13 consecutive invoices totalling R7,215.00 on a cancelled account. Rain made a minimum of 19 separate card charge attempts against my bank account in June and July 2025 alone — sometimes daily — all declined, all marked Unpaid. Every failed attempt triggered a WhatsApp payment demand to my phone per Rain's own policy. I changed my bank account because of this. I absorbed bank fees because of this. I spent months being treated as a debtor for a service I cancelled because the connection was poor. When I finally escalated formally, Rain's Legal department sent me a letter on 21 May 2026 confirming the account was cancelled. The very next morning the rainGO app showed: Status — Up to Date. Next payment — 15 June 2026. Card still active. On the same day their Legal letter was written, Rain issued a Credit Note of R7,215.00 to zero the balance — without telling me, without apologising, and without offering compensation for 13 months of harm. Everything in this review is proven by Rain's own documents — their own invoices, their own bot, their own Legal letter. I have filed complaints with the NCC (Ticket E37FC166A1D6D) and PASA. I am preparing Magistrate's Court papers. If you cancelled Rain and are still receiving payment demands — you are not alone. Ask askRain to show your declined payment history. Request all invoices from your cancellation date. Rain — account ***1. My demand of R***xx. xx remains open until 30 May 2026.

This is what Rain thinks about one of its clients, what an insult.
