After almost a year of not collecting a router, now they want to?

I cancelled a Rain service last year. Rain was supposed to collect the router in December 2021 but did not. Despite a number of calls and emailed to Rain Customer service they did not bother to even contact me. In January I sent an email informing them they had until February to collect the router, or I will throw it away. They did not even bother to respond to me me. I threw the router away in October 2022. Now they want to collect it??? I contacted them again to tell them I don't have the router two weeks ago. No respond from them. Surly you don't expect me to be responsible for this router almost a year later?
