Made an appointment for the 28th of March 2026, Anri Smith asked me for a 50% Deposit prior to appointment. I have never met Anri Smith or been a client, this would be my first appointment with Anri Smith. I agreed to pay less than 50% deposit, stating to her that I have never met her, and she has not even sent me the location or address of her salon. "Hair by Anri" is what she is currently using as her salon name. The photos of before and after were amazing, specifically the blonde. Therefore I agreed to pay her R300 in advance. My mother is on Pallative Care in Pretoria, stage 4 cancer. It was an emergency, at 3am on Saturday the 28th of March, I rushed to Pretoria to be with my mom. I have been trying to reschedule my appointment with Hair by Anri, and she is refusing to provide me with an appointment. According to Anri Smith, my deposit of R300 has expired, it was only valid for the 28th of March 2026. Anri Smith has made accusations and is blaming me, because she can't pay her rent. The total cost for my appointment was R950, less the R300 deposit, it would give her an income of R650. I guess it is much easier for Anri Smith to ask for "deposits", than to actually provide a service, and make Hair by Anri a successful salon. I hope that women search the reviews and avoid making the same mistake I made. I thought it was strange that Anri Smith asked for a deposit. No salon ever has asked for any form of deposit or payment in advance. Anri Smith from Hair by Anri, in Noordheuwel has ****** R300 from me, and I hope she is proud of herself.

Hair by Anri 2 - Poor Hair Service and Unfair Charges
Poor Hair Service and Unfair Charges at Hair by Anri, now (Hair by Anri 2) I booked an appointment at Hair by Anri 2 for 2pm and arrived early but was only attended to at 14:45. Most of the work was done by the assistant, not the hairdresser herself. She did the highlight application. The highlights turned grey, blue, and green, and the darker colour faded completely. The problem was on my natural hair at the top, not the box colour at the bottom. During the process, she did NOT check the highlights at intervals, and the toner stayed on too long (also not checked). When I asked about fixing it, I was told nothing could be done and blamed me for using box colour — yet my box‑coloured hair at the bottom was not the issue. No alternative solution was offered. I specifically asked for a proper haircut with layers, but my hair was cut straight across. I was quoted R650, but charged R800 at the end, with toner only mentioned afterwards. As a single mother, I saved for this appointment to treat myself, but I left with damaged hair, extra costs, and no solution offered. I believe this was poor service and unfair practice, and I request a full refund of R800. If this matter is not resolved, I will escalate it to the National Consumer Commission and the Hairdressing, Cosmetology, Beauty & Skincare Bargaining Council.
