openweb are *****s and you should not sign-up with them
WARNING WARNING WARNING
i have decided to switch from adsl to fibre, gave telkom the 30 day notice 1 september and my line got terminated as planned 1 october
i just cancelled my openweb adsl account yesterday being last day of month and being my home adsl account, i know at the time the package i selected was a month-to-month which means that if you cancel on or before last day of the month, your service will be terminated the following month as per the terms and conditions i accepted on signup way back when month-to-month meant if you see a better adsl deal tomorrow, cancel you adsl user account this month and sign-up elsewhere next month
this is clearly not the case now, if you decide to cancel in the last month you want to be billed for you are going to be *****ed out of another months service fees, in my case yes it is only R250pm but i am just 1 dumbass out of 1000's trapped by the request cancellation terms and conditions "button" after you fill in all you details which must be identical to the details you signed up with.
QUOTED FROM OPENWEB SITE - BE AWARE OF THIS "By clicking the 'Request Cancellation' button, you confirm that you have read and agree to the OpenWeb Terms of Service. You also agree that you are the registered account holder. Please note that a cancellation request is only deemed successful if you have received a cancellation reference number via email and the details entered above correspond with the details used during registration this process is automated and you should receive confirmation within 1 hour - should you not receive said confirmation, please fill in the details again, print the form, scan it and email it to ***"
anyway R250 is not worth fighting for because tomorrow I am cancelling all my clients hosting, adsl, lte, and whatever, because i think they should loose another +/- R10k pm just because i feel like moving my clients elsewhere.
