I have been dealing with Openweb for almost 2 months trying to rectify an issue with an old account. I recently discovered a debit order for an account I was under the impression was cancelled years ago. I got in touch with Zelda Coetzee from Openweb to try and figure out what went wrong. At first, she was not able to give me an account or username linked to the debit order. The debit order is going off my mom’s business account but the account is in my name. Eventually she came back and put to me that it was reverse traced it to my old account. Since then, I was able to prove to her that the username she supp**** me as the active account was actually changed to another username and I have a cancellation request for the final username. She then made a swift u-turn said it’s not for that account, it’s now suddenly for another account in my name that is also still open. I was then also able to show her that this username was used for just two days and was part of the exact same account I cancelled, just earlier. I have timelines for all of my statements and sent her all the supporting correspondence. I am simply responding to the information they give me. They can’t give me access to the account dashboard because it does not exist. This makes it clear that the account is actually cancelled.
At one point, they created a test account for me because I had slow internet speeds. This account was used for 2 days before they changed it again. Zelda from Openweb will now not submit the refund request because I am not able to provide a cancellation request for this temporary username. It was used from the 22nd of October 2013 to the 24th of October 2013. They created it as a test account and I was able to prove this to them. After I explained this to them more than once, they simply respond again with I need to submit a cancellation request again. They seem to deliberately avoid answering questions or process refunds accordingly. Surely if they can't give me access to the account they can't charge me for it? According to Openweb, it does not matter...
They are clearly treading water and trying to look for every possible reason not to refund. It’s clear that there is no usage on any of those accounts as they were all supposed to be cancelled. My case is also not isolated. Read on Hello Peter how many complaints are about the same issue.
I have even gone as far as sending an email to Keoma Wright the CEO of Openweb. He did not even take the time to acknowledge receipt of this email. I also followed up a couple of days later with no response. To this day, not a word from him. Clearly this company is horrible at cancellations and even worse at customer service. They are making it impossible to communicate hoping you will simply go away. I have literally explained the same thing 5 times. They don't respond until I follow up, once I follow up, I get the same response I got weeks ago. Where is the cancellation letter? I have provided this to them multiple times.
Before you make use of Openweb as your ISP, please read some Hello Peter complaints. If you have been struggling with the same issues with them, feel free to get in touch with me.
