Openserve FTTH - The long wait

Dear potential Openserve customers,

I write this letter out of pure desperation after having spent the last three months dealing with Openserve, a newly formed FTTH infrastructure provider. I logged my order on the 27th of April. This three month period mostly revolved around me trying my utmost to convince Openserve that I did indeed have FTTH capabilities in my complex. I knew this to be the case as my neighbor was gleefully enjoying the service.

After finally convincing Openserve that they had installed fiber in the complex, I received the long awaited phone call scheduling a technician to get me up and running. She told me that Openserve needed to update some details after which I would promptly receive another call. It has been a month since that fateful call.

Every time I try get into contact with Openserve directly, I am simply advised to continue working through my ISP. This approach has proven to be less than successful.

The most frustrating part is the fact that it would take a technician 10 minutes to install the switch and get me live. I cannot however organise technician myself as the job needs to be allocated directly from Openserve. This post serves as a final last attempt to get that which was promised and for the matter to be resolved.

Why is Telkom/Openserve making it so hard for people to give them their money?
