I have ordered my fibre at the end of October last year, through Afrihost and OpenServe.
The technicians from Openserve came to my house in November to install my fibre, but when they arrived, they told me the there was no no fibre box on my neighbour's pole and that it would have to be installed first by contractors. It looks like the fibre boxes every else in neighbourhood has be installed but the one in my neighbour's yard was not. He said the contractors probably didn't install it because there were tall trees between the last pole with a fibre box and this one and that it had to be trimmed first.
The technician said he would communicate this through his channels.
At the start of December I tried to get feedback, but only received feedback from Afrihost that fibre installations for December would be closed and resumed in January.
I waited for January to try and receive some feedback. After a number of queries to Afrihost, OpenServe did contact me in February to come and do the installation. I asked if the fibre box had been installed and the technician thought is was. When they arrived to do the installation, no fibre box had been installed. So they were unable to do the installation. They said they would communicate this to OpenServe, since the planning department had to come and install it.
I have been contacted by OpenServe technicians many times after this, who want to come and do my installation, but every time I explain to them that the fibre box needs to be installed first. They then tell me they will go and find out and a few days later a new technician calls me and they want to come and do my fibre installation.
I am sure the fibre box has not been installed in the meantime. I have a appointment with a technician at the end of March to come and do the installation, but I am fairly sure it will be the same story again.
It has been months now. I am frustrated. Sort it out
