Netstar
Scores reflect the Overall AI Score for each category
Based on recent customer reviews, Netstar presents a sharply divided picture. Customers consistently praise individual technicians and named call centre agents for courteous, punctual fitments. However, a dominant and recurring theme is the commercial relationship, where Contracts, Billing and Cancellations (0.8) draws sustained anger over continued debits after cancellation, undisclosed lock in periods and debt collector handovers. Emergency Response and Recovery (1.0) also draws serious safety concerns.

Netstar's biggest strength, according to Hellopeter's AI analysis, is Installation, Equipment & Technology. Fitment experiences generate the bulk of positive sentiment. Customers repeatedly name punctual, professional technicians and welcoming fitment centres. This is offset by widespread reports of units draining vehicle batteries, dead panic buttons and apps showing stale locations.

Terrible service. Truly save yourself from the ache of dealing with such a tracking company. My vehicle is a 2024 Hyundai grand i10 and during April of this year I started having trouble with my car due to it not starting. I took my car for an assessment at Hyundai, and they confirmed that the tracker placed on my vehicle was draining the battery. I then requested the Netstar come to the dealership and perform their own assessment and replace the battery. I was told by the assistant that my tracker was due for an upgrade and that may be the reason why it was draining my battery. They assured me that they will come and test the current battery and replace it. On the faithful day, Netstar was nowhere to be found and I had to be the one to call them and remind them that they are supposed to be at the dealership to replace my tracker. Once a technician arrived, when I was informed that everything was sorted I was under the presumption that an assessment was done and the tracker was subsequently replaced. That was not the case. Nonetheless I took my vehicle home thinking everything sorted only for the car not to start again a week later. When I called Netstar to check exactly what was the findings of their assessment I was informed that my car was actually not assessed and the tracker was not replaced because the tracker was installed too deep in my vehicle and the technician couldn’t get to it. Mind you they are the ones that installed the tracker on the car and why didn’t they tell me. I proceeded to cancel the contract even though I still had a year left and request that the technicians remove the tracker from my vehicle. I am still waiting today…

I have been pressing my panic button on random times just to test the thing and I don't get a call from your service center. I wasn't in any danger however, I'm worried that this will be the case when I actually NEED your assistance. My husband has called in to report this and he was told that you would schedule to come out and see what the issue is. With everything happening in this country how can I rely on your services (which I pay for by the way)? I might as well get a provider that will take me and my safety seriously!!!!

These service providers just know how make life difficult then it already is, so I reached out to Netstar Telesure regarding my tracking device with them and I told that someone will get back to me , I am still waiting. What frustrates me more is when it comes to taking money there’s no issues or unavailability like I’m experiencing now with someone to contact me about my account.

Netstar upgraded my vehicle’s tracking system last year but failed to remove the original device because, according to them, they couldn’t locate it on their system. The result? I now have two tracking devices in my SUV, with the old one periodically triggering false ignition/theft warnings while I am actually driving the vehicle. This is not merely irritating — it undermines confidence in a security service that I am paying for specifically to protect my vehicle. I contacted Netstar again last week. I was promised a call back within a day. A week later, I am still waiting. The irony is difficult to miss: a company whose business is built around tracking vehicles apparently cannot track down its own problem — or even follow up with a paying customer. Extremely poor service and even poorer accountability. Netstar needs to do better.

I had high hopes for Netstar and expected a professional service, but unfortunately my experience has been extremely disappointing. I had a Netstar tracker installed at my home by a technician. After the installation, I discovered the following morning that the coolant cap had been left open, causing the coolant to leak out. I had already driven approximately 20–30 km to work before discovering the problem. There were also no warning lights or dashboard indications to alert me that the vehicle had lost its coolant. I immediately contacted Netstar and reported the issue. They acknowledged my complaint and opened a repair case, informing me that a technician would contact me and come out to inspect and rectify the problem. Unfortunately, the technician never came, and I never received a follow-up call from Netstar to check whether the issue had been resolved. At this point, the issue has already been resolved and my car is fine, so I no longer require Netstar's assistance with this particular matter. However, that does not change how disappointed I am with the way the situation was handled. Mistakes can happen, but what matters is how a company responds when something goes wrong. I expected Netstar to take the matter seriously, arrange the inspection as promised, and at the very least follow up with me. None of that happened. I genuinely had high hopes for this company, which makes the experience even more disappointing. The lack of follow-up, communication and accountability has completely changed my impression of Netstar. I expected much better.

The most common complaint about Netstar, based on Hellopeter's AI analysis of recent customer reviews, is Customer Service & Communication. Named agents such as Njabulo and Nkululeko earn strong praise, but the dominant pattern is unanswered emails, promised callbacks that never arrive, repeated transfers between departments and calls dropping after long holds. Customers must repeat their story endlessly.
