A warning to other subcontractors
About three weeks ago, I posted about my experience involving Shaun Bowie, who I understand was working for Net Nine Nine/MTF as an Area Network Officer at the time.
I subcontracted work through Shaun. I was told that management was aware of his business arrangements and that the work we were being offered was connected to the company. We completed the first project and received payment, but a portion of the money was left with Shaun for the next project so that materials could be purchased.
The second project never materialised. I later discovered that the money I had left for the next project had allegedly been used for purposes unrelated to that project, leaving me financially out of pocket.
I personally contacted management and explained the situation. I was told that they did not take the matter lightly and that I would receive feedback by that Friday. It has now been roughly three weeks, and despite following up, I have still not received a proper explanation or resolution.
I am posting this because I believe other subcontractors should be aware of what happened to me before entering into any similar arrangement.
My concern is not only about the money. It is also about the information I was given and the fact that I believed the arrangement was known and supported by management.
To other subcontractors: please make sure everything is confirmed in writing directly with the company before handing over money for materials or future projects. Do not rely only on verbal assurances from an individual employee or representative.
I am still asking Net Nine Nine/MTF for a proper explanation and for this matter to be addressed fairly.
I have supporting communications and documentation regarding what happened and can provide them if required.
