Disappointing to say the least.

We attended a wedding at Langkloof Roses over the weekend starting 9 January 2026, and unfortunately the experience fell far short of expectations for such an important occasion. There were significant organisational issues, including double bookings and a lack of coordination from the venue. Much of the wedding setup was left to the couple and their guests, rather than being professionally managed by the venue as one would expect. Staff interactions were inconsistent and often unprofessional, which added unnecessary stress to the weekend. In addition, basic hospitality standards were not met, with guests being required to prepare their own breakfast. Overall, the level of service and attention to detail did not align with what is expected from a wedding venue. Given the importance of a wedding day, we would not recommend Langkloof Roses to couples seeking a well-managed, professional, and reliable venue.

Lack of accountability and shocking management for what should have been an unforgettable weekend

Langkloof Roses’ response to complaints regarding the wedding held over the weekend of 9–10 January 2026 is that they believe they have met their contractual obligations. Despite this position, all legitimate negative reviews submitted by the bride, groom, and their guests have since been removed from Google and Instagram. Furthermore, the comment section on Langkloof Roses’ Instagram account has been disabled, effectively preventing any further public feedback relating to these events. According to Langkloof Roses, “meeting their contractual obligations” included double-booking the venue for Friday evening, 9 January 2026. Payment was accepted from two separate parties for the same date. When the party that had been on-site since Wednesday could not be asked to vacate the premises, Langkloof Roses chose instead to relocate and split our wedding guests between two alternative accommodation venues. Neither of these alternative venues provided a bridal suite, a fundamental requirement for a wedding of this nature. Additionally, Langkloof Roses considers it acceptable that the groom and his friends were required to manually open and close the venue gate at midnight (10th January 2026) in order to allow shuttle access for non-overnight guests and to enable vendors—such as the photographer and DJ—to exit the premises. On the morning of Sunday, 11 January 2026, the venue was once again double-booked, this time with a baby shower. As a result, Langkloof Roses’ staff were stretched between two events. Consequently, the parents of the bride, the **** of honour, and her mother were required to prepare breakfast for wedding guests—responsibilities that should have been fulfilled by the venue. Despite these significant failures, Langkloof Roses does not believe that compensation is warranted, nor have they offered a sincere apology to the bride and groom. This is notwithstanding the fact that the couple spent nearly a year carefully planning and paying for what was expected to be a seamless and near-perfect wedding experience.

Do not book your wedding here

Double books and does not take accountability for any wrong doing does not even attempt to fix their mistakes or apologize

Extremely Disappointing and Unacceptable Experience – Langkloof Roses

Extremely Disappointing and Unacceptable Experience – Langkloof Roses Langkloof Roses was booked months in advance for my friend’s wedding, with full payment made to secure exclusive use of the venue and accommodation for the entire weekend. What was meant to be a once in a lifetime celebration turned into a weekend of stress, chaos, and utter disappointment due to gross mismanagement and a complete lack of professionalism. Despite having a clear contract and full payment, the venue was double booked not once, but twice. • Friday: At 12:00 midday, just one hour before our scheduled 13:00 check-in, we were informed that the venue had been double booked. This was despite the fact that check out is at 10:00, meaning management was fully aware well in advance that the previous guests were not leaving. It later became clear that the venue had accepted late payment from the previous wedding guests AFTER my friend had already paid months earlier to secure the venue for the entire weekend. That payment should never have been accepted. We then subsequently arrived at the venue at 13:00 expecting the situation to be managed and to check in, only to be told we would need to move to another venue. We rightfully refused to move to another venue as we had guests travelling from far, vendors paid to set up and a Friday night celebration duly paid for in advance. We were then repeatedly assured the previous guests would be leaving - they never did. After postponing check-in for other guests twice, we were ultimately forced to relocate to an alternative venue. A venue I may add which could not accommodate all the guests. This was not what was paid for, not what was contractually agreed to, and entirely unacceptable for a wedding weekend planned and paid for months in advance. • Sunday: The venue was once again double booked, this time for a baby shower, which should never have been allowed given that the bride and groom had paid for exclusive use of the venue for the entire weekend. There were insufficient staff to cater for both events, and as a result no staff were present during breakfast. The **** of honour and her mother had to prepare breakfast, and the bride and groom themselves essentially served the guests. This level of mismanagement is inexcusable. Management should never have allowed the venue to be double booked even once, let alone twice. It raises serious questions: When did money begin to outweigh legal obligations and basic ethics? When did accepting additional bookings become more important than honouring a wedding weekend you were ALREADY paid for? The service throughout the weekend was far below acceptable standards: • Staff were frequently unlocatable, and when they were present, they failed to perform their duties. • The bridal party’s food was not delivered on time. We had to repeatedly beg for it, and when it finally arrived, it consisted of a few small sandwiches, completely inadequate considering the enormous price paid. • There was no sense of urgency, accountability, or care. It genuinely felt as though asking staff to do their jobs was an inconvenience. What makes this even more distressing is that nothing that was paid for was properly delivered, yet no compensation or refund has been forthcoming. While no amount of money can ever make up for a wedding weekend that was effectively ruined, the bare minimum would be to refund the bride and groom for services and exclusivity that were clearly not provided. Y ou cannot accept payment for a service, fail to deliver on almost every aspect of it, and then believe you are still entitled to that money. This was not just poor service - it was a failure to meet contractual, ethical, and professional obligations. I would strongly caution any future couples to think very carefully before booking Langkloof Roses. A wedding is one of the most important weekends of a couple’s life, and unfortunately, this venue demonstrated that it cannot be trusted to honour its commitments or treat such an occasion with the respect it deserves.

ZERO STARS - DO NOT HAVE YOUR WEDDING HERE!!!

ZERO STARS - DO NOT HAVE YOUR WEDDING HERE!!! Langkloof Roses double-booked a wedding this past weekend. When the bride and groom arrived on Friday to check in (which was fully paid for months in advance), another wedding party was still occupying the venue with the venue’s permission. After hours of waiting and false promises, Langkloof Roses told the wedding party & guests to move to alternative accommodation. This caused chaos for their guests, cost them extra money, and meant they couldn’t set up for their wedding the night before. On the wedding day, rooms weren’t ready, the couple spent their morning setting up instead of getting ready, and pre-paid lunches were forgotten. During the reception, the wrong wine and incorrect quantities were served, champagne service was poor, and at midnight the groom had to manage the gate himself, letting cars in an out. On Sunday, breakfast (which was pre-paid for 45 guests) was also double-booked with a baby shower. There was hardly any food, no coffee, and members of the wedding party ended up helping cook and serve while the bride and groom helped hand out plates. To make things worse, the owner has refused any refund, compensation, or even a proper apology. What should have been the happiest weekend of their lives was filled with stress and disappointment. I would strongly warn any couple against trusting Langkloof Roses with an event as important as a wedding. Antionette Louw YOU OWE A COMPLETE REFUND.

LANGKLOOF ROSES DOUBLE BOOKED MY FRIENDS WEDDING!!!

The most shocking service I have EVER heard of. My friends, Rebecca and Damon, got married at Langkloof Roses last weekend. They booked and paid for three days- to check in on the Friday, have a braai with their guests, use that afternoon to set up for the wedding, and then for Saturday morning to be chilled and have an easy day getting make-up/ hair/ ready, and then have a peaceful wedding on Saturday afternoon, and wake up on Sunday to breakfast provided by the venue in their beautiful setting. IF ONLY THAT'S WHAT HAPPENED. They arrived at the venue on Friday afternoon, all excited and ready for what was meant to be the best weekend of their lives, only to realise that the wedding party from the Wednesday before had stayed on and were staying that Friday night- agreed upon by Langkloof Roses! Essentially, their first night was DOUBLE BOOKED. I kid you not!!!! Langkloof Roses then **** to my friends repeatedly, having them sit there in the reception with their families for HOURS, telling them they would move out the other party, meanwhile the manager Meagan was taking the other party plates so they could set out their lunch- no intention of moving them at all! This not only *****ed my friends’ wedding, but also the wedding of the bride and groom who were already there- this was not their fault at all, LANGKLOOF ROSES HAD TOLD THEM THEY COULD STAY!!!!! When someone else had ALREADY BOOKED THE VENUE! AND PAID IN FULL, MONTHS BEFORE. The venue then proceeded to call the police and have them come in to remove the other party, eventually deciding it would be too much trouble, and letting the other party stay on (who hadn’t even paid for the venue in full yet, while my friends had, months before) and telling my friends THEY HAD TO MOVE TO ANOTHER ACCOMMODATION! All of their guests were supposed to check in to Langkloof at 3pm, they were now all waiting around not knowing where to go. Langkloof roses made a big show of saying how they were doing them this big favour finding them alternative accommodation- when really, it was their fault to begin with?! The alternate accommodation was not nearly as nice, cheaper (my friends were not refunded the difference) and did not include breakfast for the guests- which my friends had already paid for at Langkloof Roses! And then had to still organise for their guests at the other venue, essentially meaning they paid double for it. Once moving to the wedding venue the next morning, they arrived to find not all of the rooms were clean, and their guests had to once again wait outside for hours while this was done. Due to having been moved to a different venue, they weren’t able to set up for the wedding the night before, and so the BRIDE AND GROOM SPENT THEIR WEDDING MORNING RUNNING AROUND SETTING UP!!!! This is not how ANY brides deserves to spend her wedding morning, one of the most important days of her life! She was then late for make-up and hair, which made everything else run late. The venue also FORGOT that the bride and groom paid ahead of time for lunch to be delivered to the groom and his groomsmen, the bride and her brides****s, and the vendors, as they were all getting ready. They eventually brought the food to the Bride after her having to ask for it multiple time, AND NEVER TOOK ANY FOOD TO THE VENDORS. Despite it having been prearranged, and already paid for!! Can you imagine arriving to your own wedding, starving? Or having all your vendors grumpy because they’re trying to set up in the heat and are being denied food? SHOCKING!!!!!! Then we get to the actual wedding… honestly, I don’t know how my friends managed to enjoy it at all, but they put on brave faces and tried their best! BUT I DOESN’T END THERE, oh no! The wrong wine, and wrong amount of wine was put on tables despite confirmation and printed menus. The waiters did not top up champagne throughout the meal or speeches as requested. This sounds like a silly thing, but my friends had to pay the venue for corkage for all of these bottles- only for half of them not to have been drunk, because the venue didn’t put them out! ***?! Were they refunded for this corkage? Of course not, don’t be silly. At midnight, the groom himself had to personally stand at the gate of Langkloof Roses for ages, opening and closing it to allow people to leave and shuttles to get in, as the gates were not being managed by the venue, despite them knowing this was happening. And then the Sunday! Oh no, we are not finished yet! IT GETS WORSE. I am so shook writing this I actually cannot believe this happened to them, it’s horrific. After an absolutely disastrous wedding weekend, a weekend which should have been the happiest of their LIVES (!!!!!!), they came out for breakfast (which was prearranged and PRE PAID FOR) and saw lovely tables being set up. They thought “Oh wow, this is nice, they’re trying to make up for the Friday by making it nicer than usual”. BUT NO. It was not for them. THE VENUE HAD DOUBLE BOOKED THEM AGAIN, AND BOOKED A BABY SHOWER OVER THE TIME OF THEIR SUNDAY POST WEDDING BREAKFAST!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Langkloof Roses had seemingly forgotten that they were paid to make breakfast for my friends and their 45 wedding guests. After rushing around to get it together, they provided one medium dish of scrambled eggs and one medium dish of sausages. This food was consumed by the first five guests! The staff claimed they were making more but in actual fact they were too busy catering for the baby shower guests who had now arrived, and were also being inconvenienced by all of this unnecessary drama. THEY WEREN’T EVEN GIVEN COFFEE?! The morning after a wedding? Good lord. Eventually the **** of honour and **** of honours mother WERE IN THE KITCHEN OF THE VENUE, HELPING OVERWHELMED STAFF COOK THE BREAKFAST. I AM NOT KIDDING. THIS IS WHAT HAPPENED. WHAT ON ACTUAL EARTH???? While the BRIDE AND GROOM were running out with plates, serving their guests! We saw our friends that Sunday evening as they needed someone to talk to about this, and they were in such a state. It should have been a magical, wonderful weekend, instead it was full of stress, anger, and emotional trauma. Langkloof Roses single handedly RUINED this wedding. Oh, and to top it all off…. I’m only writing this review a week later as my friends being the gracious people they are, wanted to wait to see if the venue would offer a full refund, or a discount, or something. ANYTHING! Even an “I’m sorry”. But no! The owner has finally responded and said that no refunds will happen as she believes they met their contractual obligation. EXCUSE ME?! They didn’t offer them a free weekend away, some money off the wedding, NOTHING. Not even an apology. This is absolutely unacceptable. I personally think they should be refunded for their entire wedding, seeing as it was completely and utterly ruined.
