Lack of accountability and shocking management for what should have been an unforgettable weekend

Langkloof Roses’ response to complaints regarding the wedding held over the weekend of 9–10 January 2026 is that they believe they have met their contractual obligations.

Despite this position, all legitimate negative reviews submitted by the bride, groom, and their guests have since been removed from Google and Instagram. Furthermore, the comment section on Langkloof Roses’ Instagram account has been disabled, effectively preventing any further public feedback relating to these events.

According to Langkloof Roses, “meeting their contractual obligations” included double-booking the venue for Friday evening, 9 January 2026. Payment was accepted from two separate parties for the same date. When the party that had been on-site since Wednesday could not be asked to vacate the premises, Langkloof Roses chose instead to relocate and split our wedding guests between two alternative accommodation venues. Neither of these alternative venues provided a bridal suite, a fundamental requirement for a wedding of this nature.

Additionally, Langkloof Roses considers it acceptable that the groom and his friends were required to manually open and close the venue gate at midnight (10th January 2026) in order to allow shuttle access for non-overnight guests and to enable vendors—such as the photographer and DJ—to exit the premises.

On the morning of Sunday, 11 January 2026, the venue was once again double-booked, this time with a baby shower. As a result, Langkloof Roses’ staff were stretched between two events. Consequently, the parents of the bride, the **** of honour, and her mother were required to prepare breakfast for wedding guests—responsibilities that should have been fulfilled by the venue.

Despite these significant failures, Langkloof Roses does not believe that compensation is warranted, nor have they offered a sincere apology to the bride and groom. This is notwithstanding the fact that the couple spent nearly a year carefully planning and paying for what was expected to be a seamless and near-perfect wedding experience.
