KÄRCHER – APPALLING AFTER-SALES SERVICE AND WARRANTY SUPPORT I purchased a Kärcher HD 4/10 X Classic high-pressure cleaner from Star Spares in Tzaneen on 1 December 2025, believing I was investing in a reliable, heavy-duty machine from a reputable international brand. Unfortunately, my experience has been nothing short of disappointing. Here is the timeline: * 1 December 2025: Purchased the machine (Serial No. ***). * March 2026: Returned the machine after it developed a fault where it would intermittently switch off during operation. * May 2026: Finally received the machine back, approximately TWO MONTHS later. To add insult to injury, I had to pay R860 in courier costs. * July 2026: After using the machine just TWICE, the exact same fault occurred again. The machine was returned for a second time. * 20 October 2026: More than THREE MONTHS later, I am STILL without my machine. There has been extensive correspondence between Kärcher and Star Spares, yet the matter remains unresolved. My understanding is that Kärcher operates on a 21-day warranty turnaround period. How does a customer end up waiting months for a machine that has already been repaired once, only to experience the identical fault almost immediately? What makes this even more frustrating is that this machine has NEVER been used commercially. I purchased it for ordinary household use: washing my motorcycles, cleaning paving and general cleaning around my property. I was specifically sold this unit as a heavy-duty machine. If it cannot withstand occasional domestic use, what exactly qualifies it as heavy-duty? I also believe Star Spares, as the selling dealer, must take responsibility. While Kärcher is responsible for the product and its warranty support, the retailer cannot simply distance itself from the customer once the sale has been concluded. We are now approaching 11 months since the original purchase, and the machine has spent approximately FIVE of those months away for repairs, with very little actual use in between. This is simply unacceptable from a brand with Kärcher's reputation. At this stage, I have completely lost confidence in both the machine and the after-sales service. I am no longer interested in another lengthy repair process. I want a full refund. Consumers pay a premium for established brands because they expect reliability, quality and proper after-sales support. Unfortunately, my experience with Kärcher has delivered none of these. I would strongly encourage anyone considering purchasing a Kärcher machine to think carefully about the warranty support they can expect if something goes wrong. Kärcher South Africa and Star Spares Tzaneen – is this really the level of service your customers should expect?

Shocking service from Kärcher
Shocking Service! Bought LBL Leaf Blower 4 Battery Set *EU on the 4 September- it was not powerful enough so I returned it. On the 7 September I sent emails and tried calling their landline numbers. (Tel: +***0 Fax: + ***2 Email: ***). The whole process of trying to return the order and nobody answering the office landlines or responding to my emails. I had to google for several contact numbers to get hold of someone to get my refund. I eventually got hold of a supplier who said he would contact Karcher to follow up on my refund. After this lengthy process I got an email and the refund department promised my refund today 16 September 2026 - from Deveraux Claassen the Debtors Supervisor. I still have not received my refund after waiting 11 days. I will never buy this brand ever again! No after sales service!!!

Bad Customer Service
I have purchased 2 machines from Karcher over the years. The one product being the electric broom. I emailed the company twice at "***", they have never responded to my enquiry. Absolute bad customer service. I would definitely not purchase from you again or recommend you.

Poor After-Sales Service Has Destroyed My Confidence in Kärcher
Poor After-Sales Service Has Destroyed My Confidence in Kärcher I’m extremely disappointed to be giving Kärcher a one-star review, particularly because we’ve been loyal customers for many years and own several Kärcher products. Unfortunately, the after-sales service I’ve received has been so poor that it has completely undermined my confidence in the brand. When the battery for one of my Kärcher products failed, I initially assumed the product was out of warranty. Before replacing it, I checked my purchase records and realised it was still well within the warranty period. That prompted me to contact Kärcher Customer Support. Before confirming the warranty status, I had already placed an order for a replacement battery. Once I explained this to Wendy Williams, I specifically asked that the order not be cancelled until Kärcher had confirmed that the battery would, in fact, be replacing the battery under warranty. Despite this, Wendy cancelled the order without my authorisation and without communicating that she had done so. I have received no confirmation of the cancellation and no correspondence regarding a refund. I only discovered the order had been cancelled during a later discussion. From my own research, there appear to be numerous reports online of exactly the dame battery failures for the 18V battery, suggesting this is not an isolated issue and should already be well known to Kärcher. The problems began when my emails were ignored. After making multiple phone calls, I eventually managed to get assistance from Wendy Williams regarding the warranty process. Unfortunately, the experience only deteriorated from there. One of my first concerns was that Wendy Williams appeared unfami**** with both the product and the applicable warranty. She could not tell me what the warranty period for the battery was and advised that she would find out and get back to me. She never did. It was only after I followed up with another phone call that she advised she had spoken to someone internally and confirmed that the battery carried a 24-month warranty. She also asked questions that demonstrated a lack of fami****ity with the product itself, including whether I had charged the battery while it was attached to the appliance, something that is physically impossible with this model. A courier eventually arrived to collect the battery, but without clear collection instructions, leaving me to package everything myself before it could be be sent to Kärcher. Kärcher has now had possession of the battery for four working days. Despite this, I have received no proactive communication whatsoever. I once again had to phone for an update. I was then told that, despite the battery being well within its warranty period, a manager still needed to approve the warranty replacement because it was month-end. I requested an update and was promised feedback. More than 24 hours later, I had still heard nothing. When I called again, I spent over 10 minutes on hold before the call disconnected. Further attempts to call back went unanswered. To summarise, this experience has involved: * Multiple emails that have been ignored. * Numerous phone calls simply to obtain basic updates. * Promised callbacks that never happened. * A replacement battery order cancelled without my authority, despite my explicit instruction not to do so until the warranty claim had been approved. * No communication regarding the cancellation or refund. * Poor product knowledge from the person handling my case. * A complete lack of proactive communication throughout the process. What should have been a simple warranty claim for a product that is less than a year old has turned into an exhausting exercise in chasing responses and trying to get someone to take ownership. The most disappointing part is that this experience has come from a company whose products we have trusted and purchased repeatedly over many years. Until now, I have always associated Kärcher with quality. Sadly, the quality of the product and the after-sales service has been the complete opposite. Unless this matter is resolved promptly and professionally, this will be the last Kärcher product I purchase, and I certainly cannot recommend the brand to anyone based on my experience. Kärcher, I hope someone in your management team takes ownership of this matter, reviews how this warranty claim has been handled by Wendy Williams, and demonstrates that your commitment to customers extends beyond the point of sale.

Complaint regarding Karcher DVAC 1500 Product Quality and Service
I am writing to formally express my dissatisfaction and disappointment regarding both the quality of the Karcher DVAC 1500 vacuum cleaner as well as the manner in which this matter has been handled. I purchased the vacuum cleaner from Builders Warehouse on 18 March 2026 with the expectation that I was investing in a reliable and reputable product. Unfortunately, after only three weeks of normal household use, the machine stopped functioning completely. Considering the reputation associated with the Karcher brand, this failure within such a short period is entirely unacceptable. I returned the unit to Builders Warehouse on 14 April 2026 in the hope that the matter would be resolved efficiently. Instead, I was informed that the store only offers a 7-day return policy and that the machine would need to be sent to Karcher for repairs. What followed thereafter was equally disappointing. When I followed up on 24 April 2026, I was informed that the vacuum cleaner had still not been sent to Karcher for repairs, despite already being in the possession of Builders Warehouse for more than a week. I was then required to make several additional follow-ups before eventually receiving the machine back on 7 May 2026. However, the frustration did not end there. Upon opening the packaging and testing the machine on 9 May 2026, I discovered that essential components were missing, including the suction hose, one suction pipe, and the dust bag. It is extremely concerning that a repaired product could be returned to a customer in such an incomplete and careless condition. This entire experience has left me deeply disappointed in the Karcher brand. Over time, we intentionally started purchasing Karcher products for our household equipment needs, including vacuum cleaners and pressure washers, because we trusted the brand’s reputation for quality and reliability. Unfortunately, this experience has seriously damaged that confidence. To summarise, the product failed after only three weeks of use, the repair process took an additional three weeks, communication and service were poor throughout, and the machine was ultimately returned incomplete. As a customer, it is extremely frustrating to now face the possibility of waiting even longer for the missing parts to be supp****. I sincerely hope that this matter will receive urgent attention and that an appropriate resolution will be provided without any further delays.

Friendly, professional Renee Read, Boksburg branch
I recently went to the Boksburg office with my broken vacuum cleaner, I was assisted by Renee Read. She was extremely helping, welcoming and explained everything in detail. My vacuum cleaner was sorted and Renee sent the collection correspondence. When I got there again, I met the same jolly, helpful and informative Renee. Thanks Renee for making my day. My vacuum was fixed.
