I had a very disappointing experience travelling with Jobela Star. Our bus was scheduled to depart at 6:45 PM, but it arrived late with no communication or updates from the company. Passengers were left waiting without any explanation, not knowing what was happening. When the bus finally arrived, we were told there was only one bus available. This should have been communicated beforehand instead of leaving passengers stranded. The delays continued throughout the journey. We had to wait for passengers who arrived late, even though the rest of us were on time. Later, when we reached Laingsburg, we had to wait again for another bus before we could continue our trip. Once again, there was no proper communication about the delay. Delays can happen, but what made this experience unacceptable was the complete lack of communication and poor planning. Passengers deserve to be kept informed and should not be inconvenienced because of operational issues or late arrivals by other passengers. I hope Jobela Star improves its customer service, communication, and time management because this was a very frustrating travel experience.

I am writing to formally lodge a complaint regarding a deeply distressing experience I had on your bus service. JOBELA STAR M19 The bus was scheduled to depart at 7:00 PM, but only arrived at 8:15 PM, already causing a significant delay. Before boarding, individuals claiming to be working for “Jobela” handled our luggage in an unprofessional and aggressive manner. They insisted on cash payments only, behaved rudely, and shouted at passengers, which made many of us feel uncomfortable and possibly unsafe. Upon boarding, the condition of the bus was unacceptable. There was a strong smell of urine at the entrance, the seats were dirty, and the charging ports were not working. There was no proper ventilation, making the environment extremely hot and unbearable. Shortly after departure, the bus stopped multiple times within minutes due to mechanical issues, reportedly needing water. Eventually, at around 11:00 PM, the bus broke down completely due to a faulty fan belt. We were left stranded until approximately 4:00 AM before the journey resumed. Throughout this ordeal, the driver was uncommunicative and dismissive. There were no clear updates provided to passengers. Additionally, the bus did not make any stops for over five hours, leaving passengers overheated, hungry, and without access to basic necessities. To make matters worse, the bus broke down again near Ngqamakhwe. I was forced to find alternative transport at my own expense in order to reach my destination in Butterworth. This experience was not only inconvenient but also extremely traumatic and unacceptable. I am therefore requesting a full refund for this trip, as the service provided was far below any reasonable standard.

bought a return ticket, but the bus never arrived at the rank as scheduled. We were given false information and told the bus was “just delayed,” only to later be told we would be transported by a different bus company. This is unacceptable, as I specifically paid to travel with Jobela. If I wanted another bus service, I would have chosen it myself. To make matters worse, the replacement bus had just arrived from Cape Town, and the drivers had not rested before continuing the trip. This made me feel unsafe, as driver fatigue puts passengers at serious risk. This experience shows poor communication, lack of professionalism, and disregard for customer safety.

Dissatisfied Review: Jobela Star Bus Services I am extremely dissatisfied with Jobela Bus Services. What was supposed to be a simple trip from Cofimvaba to Cape Town turned into a complete nightmare. Firstly, the condition of the bus was unacceptable. There was no air conditioning, and we had to travel from Cofimvaba to Queenstown with one of the doors open, making the bus feel like a moving hot pot. To make matters worse, the emergency exit on the roof was left open the entire time, and the strong wind coming through made the journey very uncomfortable, even affecting my ears and breathing. The staff service was equally poor and unprofessional. When we arrived in Queenstown at around 15:00, we were clearly told that the bus would depart at 16:15 because it needed to refuel. I even confirmed this with a staff member to avoid confusion. However, at around 15:55, while I was quickly buying something from a nearby store, I was rushed back to the bus—only to find out they were leaving earlier than promised. Shockingly, the bus departed around 16:00, leaving some passengers behind without any warning. Attempts to get the driver to stop and wait were ignored. Later, near Tarkastad, we were stopped by a vehicle hired by two ladies who had been left behind in Queenstown. Despite this serious inconvenience caused to them, there was no apology, no empathy, and no offer to reimburse their additional costs. To make matters worse, the bus itself was not roadworthy. The engine stalled about four times on the way to Cape Town, and each time someone had to open a compartment at the back just to get it running again. This was both frustrating and concerning from a safety perspective. Overall, this was a terrible experience marked by poor service, lack of communication, unsafe conditions, and zero accountability. Jobela Bus Services has completely lost my trust. I will never use this service again and would strongly advise others to avoid it.
