The ISPA is a ****

After reporting a matter I have had months to read through content and deliberate the role and suposed independence of this organisation.

The ISPA acts like a union. Internet service providers subscribe to join to legitimise their status as an internet provider.

It should be noted that today, any company can start up overnight and claim to be an internet provider. Most of these companies do not have physical addresses and are merely internet brokers.

You should also be aware that private companies buy Trademarks and act as a internet company you may have been fami**** with in the past.

I had a complaint about mysterious debit orders that were initiated on an old account months after the internet subscription ended. This should have been opened as a new case.

The bank's internal ***** devision reversed the debit order because they could clearly see that there was no history of debit orders on this account since I had always paid by EFT in advanced.

The mere fact that a debit order is initiated means that an account that was closed, was reopened, and that MWEB keeps a historical record of bank account details. This is indeed ***** as confirmed by the bank.

The ISPA found no fault on the part of MWEB. Isn't that suspicious?

For months the ISPA claimed that an independent adjudicator was examining the matter but when I received the summary there was no name associated with it. It was also just copy and paste response that the company denied such.

Since there was no investigation, I suspect that there is also no independent adjudicator. In fact, their board members are also associated with the member companies - a clear conflict of interest!

I was contacted by Sasha Beharilal who claimed to be a Compliance Manager of MWEB but it turns out she is a board member of ISPA; she represents MWEB and sits on the board of the ISPA.

She is also an appointed legal investigator. How can someone who has economic interest in a company find fault with the same company? How can such a person formulate a unbias opinion?

The other important finding I have made: the ISPA is not concerned with ******** law. This means that they do not care for ***** or theft or loss of finance. They also do not care to investigate such acts.

They have stated that their complaints can only be within in their code of conduct. Their code of conduct is useless and meaningless if it endorses ******** activity by overlooking it.

The ISPA is potentially a dangerous organisation that acts as an acessory body for companies that identify as internet service providers and protects these companies as long as they pay their subscription fees.

If you suffer financial loss by an internet company, you can report the matter to the internal ***** division at your bank. While if you suffer financial loss without recovery you will have to open a ***** case with SAPS.

Internet companies get away with creating debit orders on preexisting account because sometimes they get missed and most people prefer to deal with banks because a SAPS case may lead nowhere.

To be clear: there is NO independent regulatory body for internet service providers.
