Based on recent customer reviews, Hyundai Bellville draws sharp criticism for its after sales and workshop experience. Customers report vehicles released with unresolved faults, new problems appearing after servicing such as lights and air conditioning, long waits for parts from Korea, warranty repairs allegedly left incomplete, and job cards ticked without proper checks. Hyundai South Africa – Absolutely Appalling After-Sales Service and Complete Lack of Accountability
Hyundai South Africa – Absolutely Appalling After-Sales Service and Complete Lack of Accountability Extremely disappointed, frustrated and disgusted by the level of service received from Hyundai Bellville and the complete lack of accountability from Hyundai management. We purchased a vehicle from Hyundai Bellville, taking delivery on 2 September 2026. What should have been a straightforward and exciting purchase has turned into an ongoing nightmare of broken promises, poor communication, incompetence and an astonishing lack of customer care. It is now 22 October, more than seven weeks after taking delivery, and we are STILL waiting for our vehicle's registration and licence plates to be finalised. During this time, our temporary plates expired, leaving us in an unacceptable position with a vehicle that we have paid for but cannot confidently and legally use without concerns regarding traffic enforcement and insurance implications. We have already received a traffic fine as a direct consequence of this unresolved situation. What makes this experience particularly infuriating is not simply the failure to complete the registration process, but the complete absence of proactive communication, accountability and urgency from Hyundai. We have been passed from pillar to post, repeatedly having to follow up, chase answers and request updates on something that should have been handled efficiently by the dealership without our constant intervention. Even escalating the matter to the Dealer Principal has achieved absolutely nothing. On Saturday, 3 October, I personally spoke to the Dealer Principal, who assured me that the outstanding licence plates would be processed and sorted out by Monday, 5 October. Unsurprisingly, that commitment was not honoured. On 7 October, I sent a follow-up WhatsApp message directly to his personal number. That message has remained unread and unanswered. As of 22 October, we have received absolutely no further feedback from him. If this is the standard of accountability demonstrated by the Dealer Principal himself, what level of service can customers possibly expect from the rest of the dealership? We have also been given assurances regarding replacement temporary plates, yet have continued to find ourselves chasing information rather than receiving meaningful solutions. It is remarkable how attentive and accommodating dealerships can be when securing a sale, yet how quickly that enthusiasm disappears once the vehicle has been delivered and payment received. The after-sales experience has been the complete opposite of the sales process. There has been no ownership of the problem, no consistent communication, no urgency and seemingly no appreciation of the inconvenience, frustration and potential financial consequences this situation has caused. Why should a customer have to spend weeks chasing Hyundai to fulfil a basic obligation associated with selling and delivering a vehicle? We are not asking for special treatment. We are asking Hyundai to deliver the service and professionalism that any customer should reasonably expect when purchasing a vehicle from an established motor dealership. This experience has completely undermined our confidence in Hyundai Bellville and raises serious concerns about Hyundai South Africa's standards of customer service and oversight. We now expect Hyundai South Africa's Head Office to intervene directly, take responsibility and ensure that: Our vehicle registration and licence plates are finalised without further delay. We receive a clear explanation for the extraordinary delay and repeated failures. Hyundai addresses the traffic fine incurred as a result of the registration issue. The lack of communication and accountability from the dealership's management is formally investigated. Seven weeks of excuses, unanswered messages, unfulfilled promises and having to chase a dealership to do its job is utterly unacceptable. Hyundai, selling a vehicle is only the beginning of your responsibility to your customer. Your after-sales service is what ultimately defines your reputation. Based on our experience, Hyundai Bellville has failed dismally. I would strongly caution prospective customers to consider the after-sales support they can realistically expect before purchasing a vehicle from this dealership.

Terrible experience
I received a terrible after service sale from a Hyundai dealer in Bellville Cape Town After buying and collecting the car on the 19th of August 2026 ten days later after putting in full tank petrol on the car the fuel gauge only went up until the middle showing only 228Km after putting in 43Litres, I then contacted the dealer on the 1st of September and I was advised to bring the car in for them to check which I did, then they said the car needed a new fuel sump to be installed and that would take 3 days they will order from Joburg and 3days days became 2 weeks with back and fourth while I continued to drive an unsafe car since I dont have a choice, I decided to take the car back to the dealer on the 16th September and asked them to cancel the purchase of the car they have been ingnoring my emails since today, the only response last week from the manager was that he will speak to his regional manager not response yet, this is my worst experience with the Hyundai brand.

Bad service received at Hyundai in Bellville
I went to Hyundai to service my vehicle Upon collecting my vehicle i saw the invoice was written incorrectly cash instead of service plan. Yesterday upon driving my vehicle at night I saw they have ruined my lights. I am so upset because when I handed in my vehicle the lights were working perfectly which means whoever that serviced my car ruined them after that wrote on the report that my lights are multifunction and they also suppose to diagnose the ABS I was told that I need to pay R1100 to book in my vehicle.

Warning: Persistent Negligence and Warranty Failure
I am writing this to warn other consumers about my experience with Hyundai Bellville. My vehicle was serviced under warranty for excessive oil consumption. While the engine was replaced, the dealership identified that the timing chain, tensioner, and oil pump also required replacement, but failed to conduct these repairs or properly notify me that they were "rejected" by the warranty department. Despite being told the vehicle was "ready" and fully repaired, I was later forced to discover through my own investigation that these critical internal engine components were left faulty. Only 18,000 km later, the engine is now exhibiting severe mechanical failure, including shaking and an audible "tik tik" metal sound. I was denied access to mechanical reports for over a year, and the dealership has failed to provide any formal proof of the alleged warranty rejection. Hyundai has consistently demonstrated a lack of transparency and a failure in their duty of care, leaving me with a vehicle in a critical condition that was supposed to be covered under their 7-year/200,000 km warranty. Proceed with extreme caution.

Hyundai Bellville – Poor Service & Safety Concern
I am disappointed with Hyundai Bellville. My Hyundai Grand Creta was serviced on 30 April 2026 (90,000km). On 14 May, the engine light came on. I brought it in on 15 May, but when I left, the engine light was still on, meaning the issue was not fixed. I returned immediately and was told to rebook, but no booking was ever made. On my way home, the car started jerking and felt unsafe to drive, this after they gave me the all clear on the floor to leave with the car. I had to arrange my own tow via OUTsurance on 18 May (excellent service from them). Multiple calls and follow-ups to the service advisor, manager, and team were ignored. I even took leave to resolve this, with no response. I just felt they should have arranged for this tow as they were the one’s who made me leave their workshop floor. I trusted their call thinking that the issue isn’t big at all. I visited again on 20 May and was told a part needs to be ordered from Korea, with a ±1 month wait. Key Issues for me is that my vehicle was released to me without fixing the problem, no communication or follow-ups, vehicle became unsafe after leaving dealership (what if I got stranded on high crime no stop zones like the R300 or the N2 with my family in the car!!!) The service manager and the workshop foreman mentioned that I can give the manager a call today 25 May, to speak to him to arrange for a courtesy vehicle. I have phoned the branch several times today and yet a call from the manager for assistance. Ironic thing is, I get almost 2-3 calls from Hyundai salespeople weekly for a trade in. How would any sane person trade in a car with a company that does not deliver on the after sales promise they so wonderfully display in their showrooms. Third Hyundai out of the box, have been loyal to them and this is what I get in return!

10 Stars for service excellence
Thank you for the awesome service I received this morning. From the smiles that greeted me while waiting in line, the speedy adjustment my clutch needed, the cup of coffee I received to finishing off my paperwork. It is always a joy to visit your service center. Thank you so much to everyone. I truly appreciate it.

Excellent Follow-up service
I recently purchased a vehicle from Hyundai Bellville, and overall I had a positive experience. On the day of collection, I noticed some bubbles under the paint on the left-hand side rear passenger door. I brought this to their attention and arranged to have the vehicle booked in to address the issue. While there was a delay initially and the work was not completed as expected, the situation was handled very well thereafter from Luqmaan. With that being said I would especially like to thank Luqmaan Lucas for his exceptional service and dedication. He took personal responsibility for resolving the matter, arranged for the vehicle to be collected from me, and ensured I was not left without transport. Throughout the process, he kept me informed with regular updates, which I really appreciated. When the car was returned, everything had been sorted out, and Luqmaan even followed up the next day to make sure I was happy with the outcome. His professionalism, communication, and willingness to go the extra mile truly made a difference. Thank you to Luqmaan for turning the experience into a positive one.

Horrible Service
Horrible Service. Brought in my car for 150km service. Day after leaving, my air-conditioning did not work. Brought it back, and they suddenly tell me that the air-conditioning needs servicing and that I must pay for it. Very unfair that it was not picked up and suddenly got not to work after service when it was working perfectly before the service.
