No help, just sales.
I had a frustrating experience with Home Connect’s support team. My 5G network wasn’t showing up on any of my devices for over a week, so I called in for assistance. The first solution I was given was to switch my router on and off—of course, this didn’t work. Then, I was asked to toggle some WiFi settings on the admin panel, but that also didn’t solve the issue.
After that, the agent simply gave up and told me my router was too old, suggesting I buy a new one because “routers are like fridges; you can’t keep them for 15 years.” That’s honestly a ridiculous statement—first, my router is nowhere near 15 years old, and second, a fridge can last that long :) . The next explanation I got was equally absurd: I should “give it time” because “when you turn off your TV and turn it back on, Netflix doesn’t open automatically.” Seriously?
Luckily, a friend of mine helped me out. They logged into the same admin panel to access the router’s settings, rebooted the system, entered the PPPoE credentials, and just like that, my 5G showed up again. If this was such a simple fix, why couldn’t the support agent suggest it? Instead, they wasted my time with pointless troubleshooting, then gave up and told me to buy a new router. Clearly, their priority is getting off the call as quickly as possible, not actually helping customers. Clearly they lack training.
If you’re looking for reliable support, don’t expect much from Home Connect.
