I was due to be connected on the 1Jan2022, having moved to a new unit. After formally advising Home Connect of the move and the desired date of activation, only to have to follow up with a call on the 1st of Jan (during their advertised weekend/holiday working hours) to find out the status of my application. Following which I was told by Maxine that they're are skeleton staff, their operations are engaged, she would advise them and get back to me - she never got back to me, I had to call two more times after that to find out what was happening. Working from home I needed to be connected come Monday morning. I then called the next day only to be told that operations don't work on a Sunday and I should call on Monday morning. A different person then explained to me that the line was still occupied and the the would need to wait for the fibre infrastructure owner to advise once the line is free. I then had to call the infrastructure owner (Metrofibre) and sort out that issue (something that Home Connect could have done, by requesting an early line release - but no willingness) Once that was resolved I was then able to be connected on 4th Jan 2022. The lack of business continuity (during their advertised operating hours) and willingness to help a customer is what left much to be desired from Home Connect (they could learn from a thing or two from Metrofibre about customer care). If I wasn't in such a desperate situation at the time I would have cancelled the contract.
