Home Connect - terrible business ethic

So three months ago I moved to another part of Johannesburg and requested my line be moved to my new residence. Being a loyal Home Connect customer I was happy to hear that you guys covered the area I moved to.

All smooth until today when I received a sms saying my service will be suspended due to a month penalty at my old residence.

This would be the first I've even heard of an outstanding amoint and asked why it is not reflected on my latest invoice. No reasonable response was offered. I asked how am I supposed to deal with an issue I know nothing about? No adequate response.

I then said no problem, I will pay this phantom amount owed but at the end of the month as I am a commission earner and haven't earned since the start of Lockdown so things were tight. This was not acceptable to Home Connect.

After being a customer for three years, a payment deferment for 7 days was not a suitable arrangement to them.

I called another provider who will have me up and running in hours and they can give me a better rate for the same line, and I only have to pay monthend.

This is not about money. This is about business sense. An old invoice, not known about and this is how you treat customers? You would rather lose a client than defer payment by 7 days?

Please allow me to understand your business ethic by explaining to me how this makes good business sense considering the amount of providers fighting for business out there?

When you guys have issues on your lines, quite frequently, do I demand you refund me or do I pay in full?

I am very interested to see what sort of business I am dealing with.
