Fibre package not yet activated

So on 16 February 2018, I app**** for a 25/25 activate fibre package with Home Connect, which they approved on the same day.

Three days later, 19 Feb, I was told that it would take 2-4 weeks for them to connect me if it was a live area, which it is.

On 20 Feb, I get an email saying that MetroFibre advised them that my home does not have a termination point (TP) as per their system, which is weird because I was sure I had one on my wall installed by MetroFibre in 2015.

Home Connect told me that I would need to be bumped to another, more expensive package which would cover the installation of the TP.

I sent them a picture of the TP on my wall but there was no comment from them about this. On 7 March, Home Connect asked me to check if the TP box has a MetroFibre logo on it as per MetroFibre’s instruction. There was none. But I told Home Connect that MetroFibre and the Body Corporate of the complex confirmed that I have a MetroFibre TP in the house.

To this day, I haven’t received a reply until today.

The point is, I’m in the fourth week of waiting and I still haven’t received any indication of this matter being solved, nor have I had any indication of whether they are going to set up the connection in the next few days. It is frustrating.

I have heard many good things about Home-Connect before, some having said they are reliable and efficient. However, I am considering cancelling my application if I don’t hear from them in the coming week.

Dear Home Connect While I appreciate Home Connect responding to my concerns – a MetroFibre technician came to install the ONT at 12pm today – other issues have surfaced. The MetroFibre technician discovered that my link/connection is either broken or not spliced. He added that he would log the issue with MetroFibre and that maintenance would try and rectify the issue within the next three days, which would mean Monday at the latest, I assume. I ask that Home Connect please prioritise this issue and get MetroFibre to rectify the issue by this Friday, 16 March, as it has been a month since I app**** and still I am sitting without internet connectivity.

So after it taking 5 weeks for Home-connect and Metrofibre to finally get our Fibre up and running, it only lasted 3 days. So after just three days of having fibre, the connection is broken. Within 20mins I call Home Connect. From then on it has taken 24hrs of me calling them for updates about the whereabouts of Metrofibre. I got the usual response that they created a ticket for the call out and that they will get back to me as soon as they can get hold of Metrofibre. But still, over 24hrs later, I'm still awaiting a favourable response and am sitting without connectivity. I need the internet today as a company is going to conduct an online job interview with me, and the ISPs don't seem to care. Worst off, no matter which company I decide to go with, I'm stuck with Metrofibre. Absolutely **** service from both Home-Connect and Metrofibre!

Considering the next four days make up a long weekend, I am facing the prospect of not having the internet until next Tuesday, and that is if MetroFibre even pitches up. I logged a call for a broken connection this past Tuesday. So that would mean I would be without any service for an entire wee**** Why should any customer pay for a service they are not receiving for an entire week? Either your standard of service should be jacked up or your payment system should change in order to cater for what seems like recurring breaks in connectivity. Get a move on!!!
