Having moved into a new apartment in December, I was informed by the complex manager that the fibre provider for our complex was FREDD / Tesuco / TTC connect. He explained that for security reasons that he didn't want random providers on site, and that it was as easy as running a cable from downstairs to upstairs. He gave the contact name and number. Following this I got in touch with FREDD / TESUCO/ TT Connect and completed the online links that were forwarded to me. At this point, having had a good experience in Randburg with my Open Serve / Afrihost fibre installation, I did not expect what followed. First an appointment was made for an inspection. I questioned the reasoning as they were the only provider on site. I was assured that this was standard practice. Following this "inspection call out" they left behind an inspection form. Then I received a breakdown of installation costs which I was not made aware of in the online contract. Yet again I was told that it was standard practice, and not to worry. So, as instructed, I waited for installations to contact me. Atlas nothing. On my follow-up, I was informed that I had to sign the inspection form that was left behind and send it back to them. This was the first time that I was told about this, and again, I was made to jump through another hoop. Having lost three days already, I left the clinic queue that I was in, to go home, and sign and return the form to them. Now this is when alarm bells should have gone off. Previously with Open Serve / Afrihost, my fibre was installed a few days after application. No inspection, no form signing, no e-mails listing extra costs - and all done on site in one day. No back and forwards. Needless, to say, this was not the last of it. I waited but nobody from installations contacted me following my mad dash home to get the signed form to them. A few days and calls later, I was told that installation had been scheduled for January. At this point, trust was nonexistent, and I cancelled the contract with immediate effect, prior to installation. Now, they have the immorality to deduct a debit order from my account. They say it's for the costs of the inspection, as outlined in the e-mail that I was told to ignore. Please learn from my mistakes, and run from any dealings with Fredd / Tesuco / TT Connect. ...Now the legal battle will begin. PS. I highly recommend Afrihost. I have gone the LTE route and I'm so happy.
