Fliber service backup price increase.

Fliber the company have their good and bad points. They do provide a good average service if every thing is works. Are customers important, not as much as they should be when in comes to billing and availability. I had the no fibre service for more than 5 weeks due to line breaks by municipality digging to lay new water pipes in the area and then the Evotel Tech’s were not available. Still, we were billed the full contractual cost, small print does not guarantee service availability but you have to pay the monthly subscription. I had to install a backup wireless system at 15% additional cost to have connectivity for my business. No discounts from Fliber on my billing, Evotel was the guilty party and Fliber can do nothing about it. I have been running this dual system for months switching over when ever the fibre goes down. Now we were sent an email referring to clause 15.4 and telling us that we are hereby been given 14 days’ notice of a subscription increase of the back up system. Remembering this back up system is in place because of the Fliber network lack of up time and the risk for the company this causes. The additional cost of 15% we paid was to cover the service failures of Fiber our supplier and Evotel their supplier. Then they now have the audacity to call this increase a “minor increase”, when in reality it is a 133% increase for the wireless backup system. The additional cost for a back up system needed if you have Fliber, goes from 15% additional to 29.5% and the increase will be automatic as from next month 14 Sept 2024.. Someone need to explain to the leadership of Fliber what customers mean to the company and what customer care is. I will be looking at alternatives to the Fliber fibre. Taking into account the additional cost of backup and comparing a total package from different service providers.

Dear Willem,

Thank you for reaching out and sharing your concerns. We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience you’ve experienced with the fibre service. Unfortunately, as you noted, the fibre infrastructure is subject to physical damage from external factors, and we have limited control over the downtime caused by these incidents.

Regarding the wireless backup service, we want to clarify that it is indeed an optional service, and its use is entirely at your discretion. We understand that the recent increase in its cost may be frustrating, and we appreciate your feedback on this matter.
Your satisfaction is important to us, and we’re here to assist you in finding the best solution for your connectivity needs.
If you have any further questions or require assistance, please don’t hesitate to reach out.
Thank you for your understanding.
