FibreStream internet connection dropping - ISP wanting to charge R750 for a technician to be dispatched!
I have had Fibrestream for the past month, I have possibly lost internet connection roughly 10 to 15 times in the past month and around 7 times on the 14th December 2020. I have explained that this is an intermitted issue. They are now wanting to dispatch a technician and charge me R750 if when the technician leaves and the problem is resolved. If the problem is not resolved then there will be no charge. I'm very confused because if the fault is with the service provider, why are they wanting to charge the client a call out fee?
They automated response I keep receiving is when the problem occurs, then I need to go to shop.vumatel.co.za and run a speed test. How does that even make a sense. Why would you run a speed test if you are having intermitted internet connection.
I am going to cancel, however I probably will have to stay with them till the end of January due to the 1 calendar month notice period. With Covid-19s second wave hitting us and not being around family, this is an absolute inconvenience!
