Lite up, I think they referring to their staff smoking Joints

5 words spring to Mind.

Dishonourable, Unprofessional, Unknowledgeable, Dishonest & Unhelpful

So, We bought a beautiful Flat in a Complex in Randburg. They raved about the fact that the complex was about to be "Lit up". Which in my industry means they were going to be putting the fiber online.

This was 7 months ago. They have promised that the fiber would be live by Feb. If you haven't seen the date of this complaint you will notice its June.

They have also blatantly **** to our Body Corporate Chairman and said they are "Splicing", which can only be done after the actual fiber has been installed to the apartments, which it hasn't. (On this point we just had the whole place painted and there is now white trunking running up the sides of buildings, half painted and broken. This also was not supposed to happen as they said they would use the existing in-wall conduits making it a "Cable-less" installation).

We also have DSTV Dishes which were supposed to come down which will leave bright yellow marks on the freshly painted walls. This is not their fault but if they were done in Feb as promised they would have been down before the painting had been done.

The Complex Security is also compromised as they were supposed to install a Phone so the Guards could call the residents about Visitors. This cant happen so its a free for all, not our guards fault.

We also are dependent on this installation to install Camera's for Security and from what I hear flats are being broken into. But this could be hear say.

I have been in contact with this company several times over the last month with many questions. Being the IT Director of a National IT Company I know my stuff quite well.

The Staff lie and treated me like i was stupid. Now, I don't care about my knowledge in this regard but if i didn't know any better.... They would just bull **** everyone. Unfortunately for the woman dealing with me, she had no idea who i was.

They are promising a complete date by the end of June... 3 weeks have done by and they have not been to site once.

This Company is absolutely disgusting with how they have treated us as clients and I hope that if anyone reads this they stay FAR away from them if approached to do their complex.

Can you please send me an email to ***.

I think I know which complex you're referring to, but would like to confirm and assist.

Thank you

Hi there,

Our team has responded to all your questions and concerns, we await your further response.

We can confirm with 100% cer*****y that our team is currently in the process of splicing and home installs will start from next week monday on a block per block basis.

As it is a claim we take extremely seriously, we have also fully reviewed  all correspondence with yourself and we cannot see any instance of dishonesty, unprofessionalism or unhelpful behaviour. If you have correspondence showing otherwise, we would greatly appreciate this so that we may action accordingly.

Thank you

Quick Update: The Complex is still not fully up and running. I.e. Fiber is not in every apartment. BUT this company did come the first week in July and put us online to keep us quiet. Needless to say, Now we have black fibre cables strung along the walls and between apartments but at least they got us up?

Hi,

You’re welcome to request feedback from the team, I’m sure you know they’re always eager to help.

But a quick update:

-Internet orders were installed first along with a satellite fibre that we’re helping Teljoy (the satellite solution provider) with.

-All blocks are live for both internet and satellite.

-The complex has ordered a central satellite dish which is distributed over our fibre so unsightly individual dishes can be removed. We have thus been asked to install fibre into each unit regardless of them being interested in having a satellite connection or internet. The current cables you see hanging are where we haven’t installed the fibre into the unit which in most cases are due to access (resident not available or not interested).

The complex management has been extremely helpful with communication, but unfortunately we’re working around many people’s schedules etc.

I hope that helps?

Regards

RL

Good Morning, First and foremost in a form like this identifying me and addressing me by name is unprofessional and actually quite irresponsible. I have reported this and requested this be changed. Secondly, No, the black cables I refer to are your newly installed fibre cables not the old satellite dish cables. Thirdly, The update is not for me but for anyone looking into your company. I update my reviews as they are going or completed and resolved to give a fair report to the public as you will see on any of my reviews.

Hi there,

Regarding the below:

"No, the black cables I refer to are your newly installed fibre cables not the old satellite dish cables."

I think you might have misunderstood the feedback. You're correct they are the newly installed fibre cables waiting to be taken into individual units, but the reason it's outside every unit and not just people that have signed up for internet is because the complex will be running DSTV/Satellite feed over the fibre also with a centralised dish in front. Allowing satellite feed to run over our fibre network was part of the requirement of installing into the estate.

Unfortunately not everyone is interested/available/etc to have the cable installed into their unit, so it's slow going finalising that installation. So we're trying our best with the help of the management to get access to every unit, but this is proving to be the biggest challenge. We've tried different approaches of emails, calls, pamphlets and knocking on doors. I suppose a time will come (with complex management permission) where we'll abandon trying to install those units where we absolutely can't get access and remove the cable. But as it stands we're still installing as we get permission.

As mentioned, the complex has been amazing in helping and residents have been very patient through this process, which we really appreciate.

The ultimate end goal for the complex of this would be that all individual dishes can be removed. The benefit for us is a MUCH quicker installation time (few minutes) of internet when someone signs up in the future.

Thanks

RL

No, the black cables I am referring to are the cables that run to our unit that are already installed and connected. Not cables waiting to be installed.

Hi,

Ok I see, external cable going into units should be trunking. Is this not the case at your unit?

Thanks
