Unacceptable Service and Unreasonable Refund Delay
Unacceptable Service and Unreasonable Refund Delay I was asked by Embay Meter to pay upfront for the replacement of a meter box for my unit. I was told that payment had to be made immediately so that their team could come out and replace it. As instructed, I made the payment. When their technical team arrived, they discovered that the issue was not with the meter box at all, but with the main box. In other words, I was asked to pay for a replacement based on an incorrect diagnosis. I was then instructed to complete a refund form, which I did and submitted on Saturday. Seven days later, I still have not received my refund. I followed up and was informed by Kagiso that she is also unsure of when the refund will be processed. It is completely unreasonable to expect a customer to wait seven days for the return of their own money, particularly when the error originated from Enbaya Meter's side. The lack of clarity around the refund process and the fact that staff cannot provide a definite answer is extremely frustrating and unprofessional. More concerning is the conduct of the technical team, who appeared to rush to quote and collect payment for a replacement before properly diagnosing the actual problem. Customers should not be expected to pay for a service or replacement that was recommended without an accurate assessment. I expect my refund to be processed without any further delay, along with a proper explanation as to why this situation occurred in the first place.

Billing System - ***** - Payout for tenants consumption for whole month only R150 yet bill was R6000
I am extremely disappointed and concerned with the way this prepaid meter system is working. I am a landlord, and it is only myself and my husband living at the property. We both work the whole day and are hardly home. We also have one couple renting on the property. Our previous electricity bill was R11,000, which put us under serious financial pressure and forced us to make a payment arrangement with Eskom. According to Enbaya, only around R900 electricity was consumed last month, yet this month our bill has come to approximately R6,000. When it came to the rebate, only R150 was paid. These figures do not make sense, and we need an urgent explanation from Enbaya. We trusted this system to provide accurate and transparent readings, but instead we are left confused and financially stressed. Please investigate this matter and provide us with a clear breakdown of the charges, consumption, and rebate calculation as soon as possible.

Owners Misled on Prepaid Water Meter Costs and Terms
I am extremely disappointed with how Enbaya has managed the prepaid water meter project for our complex. During the special general meeting, owners were able to vote on this project but the revised proposal with updated pricing, rental terms and installation did not get sent to owners until the very day of the meeting. Therefore no owners had an adequate chance to properly review or understand the financial impact prior to voting. The way the project is currently being implemented is very different compared to how it was first proposed in the meeting notice sent to owners. Examples of these differences include the payment holiday terms have changed, monthly costs are higher, duration of agreements has changed, and there is additional operational and financial limitations that were not disclosed upfront. Many owners feel like they were set up for long-term financial commitments that were not properly disclosed or explained to them upfront. Owners have made repeated and respectful requests to Enbaya to pause the project until all of the internal disputes within the scheme have been resolved, however, implementation has continued. Based on my experience, the level of transparency and honesty in the manner in which this project has been managed raises serious concerns regarding this company's business practices and I would caution any complex from entering into any business relationship with Enbaya unless all terms/pricing are disclosed in advance.
