Vodacom & loadshedding

Today is the third day we cannot use the Vodacom internet. Phoning the customer care line has a recorded voice blaming Escom and loadshedding. What happened to back-up batteries? More concerning is that Escom predicts loadshedding until April - does this mean we cannot use the Vodacom internet until April but will still be charged for it on our contract? We also subscribe to Breedenet-Herotel and have no problems during loadshedding. If they can get it right why can't Vodacom. Can we have an explanation, please.
