Poor Service - Failed Contract and Device Upgrade

I would like to make a formal complaint about the terrible service I am currently receiving from Elite Mobile.

In February 2016, I was contacted by a sales representative from Elite Mobile notifying me that I was due for an upgrade. He advised me on an ideal package to take that would save me money based on my phone usage. He also informed me that should I process the upgrade through them, the unit would be delivered and my contract details updated on Vodacom's records. He also mentioned that should I want to opt out of the transaction, I would need to notify them within a 7 day period, and the unit would be collected.

I cancelled the transaction within the 7 day period, and I wasn't given a reference (because Elite Mobile doesn't give references for calls). I was told that a note would be made for the unit to be collected, and that the collection would happen within 2 weeks. To cut a long story short, I followed up about 5 if not 6 times before the unit was finally collected in May 2016. According to the gentleman that was finally prepared to help me, no prior notes had been made to collect the unit – this angered me.

I decided to wait a month before enquiring about my upgrade at a Vodacom store. Upon my enquiry, I was told that I was only due for an upgrade in 2018 because Elite Mobile hadn’t reversed the transaction details on Vodacom’s database, even though I’m still paying the previous contract price. The Vodacom employee didn’t hesitate to inform me of how many customers have previously complained about the nonsense service received from Elite Mobile. Unfortunately, because Elite Mobile is a company on it’s own, there was nothing anyone from Vodacom could do to help me resolve this issue.

I contacted Elite Mobile numerous times thereafter to enquire about when the transaction would be completely reversed without success – continuously being told that the transaction will be reversed.

I gave up on this matter, until December 2016 when I decided to enquire again – much to no one’s surprise, this was also unsuccessful.

A gentleman at Vodacom advised me to contact Vodacom’s Upgrade Centre to be put though to Elite Mobile. I made this call last week (February 2017), and they were unable to do so.

I am posting this complaint because I am no longer in a position to run after Elite Mobile. There’s nothing that I haven’t tried to reverse this transaction.

I am writing this complaint because I would like someone that can, to PLEASE help me. I am paying for a device that I finished paying for in 2016.
