December the 18th 2017,I received a call from Elite Mobile the agent was calling on behalf of Vodacom. I was informed about a package they have available to offer me for a P10 lite. I told the agent I’m not happy with what they have to offer as I have a MTN contract where I receive minutes, sms's and data and asked if she could look at a package that offers data only (I informed the client I have a MTN sim and she informed me that the P10 lite is duel sim so I will be able to use both sims). The agent checked the system and informed me that they have a package where I can get 10gigs of data for R289 per month. I informed the agent I will be taking the package but to my surprise when I received the phone (27/12/2017 i received the package and it was activated the 28/12/2017) and checked the data and there was 1gig. I called Vodacom on the 28/12/2017 to query this and was informed that the package I took was a promotion where the 10 gigs is for one month and for 24 months I will receive 50 minutes, 50 sms's and about 150 megabytes of data. I queried this and informed them to take the phone back as this is not what I signed up for as I was not informed that I will be getting the data, sms's and minutes for the 24 months. I have a app on my phone where my calls are recorded and listened to the call over and over again and nowhere did I pick up that the agent informed me what I will receive data, sms's and minutes for the 24 months after informing her to check if there is a contract that I can take with data only. I called Vodacom call center again on the 29/12/2017 to inform them that I was miss-led as a client and felt that it is my right to get the contract that I signed up for. The consultant from Vodacom who was very helpful informed me to speak to Elite Mobile and after trying to bring my story across to a consultant in the complaints department she kept messing in my moth told me they cannot listen to the call recordings as the offices are closed due to the holidays I got really upset because she was of no assistance and she dropped the call. When I signed up I informed them that my account should be debited on the 25th of each month and yesterday I received a text message for a debit order with an amount of R276.01. There are no funds in my account and now my account is in a minus because of this whole mess up. I’m still sitting with the package which is in the box as I was informed that someone will be collecting the package. Why was I **** to about this package? Too many time as clients we get things that we did not sign up for and just told that they will cancel. I was calm about the whole situation and said they can come fetch the phone but now that a debit has gone off from my account with and amount of R276.01 from Vodacom who will be responsible to the bounced debit order. I want the package that was offered to me on the 18/12/2017. This matter will be taken to the Ombudsman should it not be sorted out!
