Faulty contract and no luck to resolve problem
I was due for a upgrade in July 2017 as my contract expires in October 2017. I phoned Elite Mobile to provide me with phone options so that I can compare the phones and make a decision. I decided to upgrade with a Samsung A7. I called them again to inform them of my decision. The consultant phoned me back to start the process. During our conversation I had to correct him a few times that this is a upgrade and not a new contract. I also wanted to change from a flexi 150 to flexi 200. We agreed on the new amount of R449.00 per month (upgrade phone and flexi 200). I received my new phone on 1 Aug 2017. At the end of Aug I did not see the change from flexi 150 to flexi 200 so I called Vodacom direct to enquire. To my horrer while I was holding for a consultant, their service informed me my account due is R905.00 - When I spoke to the operator and asked why my acc was so much, I was told that I have my old contract , my new contract and tablet to pay. I locked a complain. Mandla from Elite Mobile contacted me and said he will listen to my phone conversation with the operator and come back to me. I was phoned back by him to confirm that the mishap was on their side and that they will cancel the new contract or offered to give me money to buy a cheap phone so that I can make calls with my new contract from this phone and then I can still keep my old number on the A7 (seeing that the 2 weeks refund policy was past my old number could not be linked to the new A7 phone.) The other option was to send the new phone back - at first I decided to take the option and then decided to rather return the phone(keeping in mind that I bought a new cover for my phone (R350.00), had a screen protector put on (R250.00), paid R150.00 to transfer all my info over to my new phone. The A7 was colled from me via Courier on 27 Sept 2017 - arranged by Elite Mobile. No refund for all the money I've spend as my "refund option" was the cheap phone wich I declined. I followed up a week later and Mandla confirm they received the phone back. On 26th Oct 2017 I went directly to Vodacom and upgraded to my new Samsung A7 phone.(Again I had to pay transfer R150.00 of info, new screen saver R270.00, fee R150.00). I've been trying since then to have the contract cancelled - I believe Vodacom will not cancel the contract as the phone shows not received on their system, and Elite Mobile will not give Vodacom the phone as it is Dealer phone (they bought it out from Vodacom). Meanwhile I am the one fitting the bill every month R1006.00. I have to phone every time to find out how far they are and every time I'm told they are waiting on Vodacom. 1st Bill (3/9/17) R905.49, 2nd Bill(3/10/17) R1006.50, 3rd Bill (3/11/17) R1006.50. - This is unaceptable and bad customer service. I need this to be sorted out today.
