False marketing

Dear Sir/Madam

I am writing this to express my dissatisfaction and anger towards Elite Mobile whereby on Tuesday the 7th February 2017 around 14H30 -15H00 one of your sales agent by the name of Elvina called me for and upgrade service on my Vodacom number .

She was offering a certain package of which I rep**** to her by saying that I have actually bought myself a new handset which provides for my requirements in terms of the phone specifications, and she asked me what phone was that and what my specification requirements were ,and I told her that it is an STK Sync a Telkom device and it has a DUAL SIM CARD AND A 13MP CAMERA which is what I need. I also explained that the reasons I need that is sometimes that I need to have access to all the specials by MTN and Vodacom in terms of Data and other offerings and my contacts list.

She then told me that they do have a Samsung Galaxy J5 Prime with a DUAL SIM CARD and 13MP camera and that what I can take. I then agreed to sign up for those reasons.

To prove all this I am sure they can make available the recording of this call as their calls are normally recorded.

So on Thursday the same week the device was delivered as I had another phone I did not bother to immediately open it on the same day.

On Friday after work I bought a top cover which prevents the glass from breaking for R100 as I have an 18month old baby who sometimes takes my phone and would play with it and would sometimes drop on the ground.(also just to show how much I valued my phone and wanted to have it protected from damages.)

In the evening on Friday I then tried to set it up to install my sim cards to my surprise it was NOT DUAL SIM . Because I thought NO ONE FROM A REPUTABLE COMPANY(if they are) would sell me something false . I thought on Saturday I will go to the Vodacom shop to request assistance in installing the sim cards.

The gentleman at the store out rightly told me that Vodacom doesn't provide Dual Sim phone cards especially on contract . That's when I realised that someone has purposely **** and given me wrong information.

This was also confirmed with one of their customer care agent this morning(13th Feb when she told me that Vodacom doesn't provide DUAL SIM phones .

What upsets me the most is when she told me that I am going to be charged additional R150 over and above the R100 I paid for the cover for having removed the top plastic seal and having a cover attached to it .

So my question to her was if I have purchased a product that I specifically outlined what I have wanted from it and having promised that what would be send to me is exactly what I said I want , upon delivery and confirmation that it is now mine. Why was I supposed to first get permission to use it, was I not supposed to use it the way that I wanted to use it, if now they feel they are going to punish me for something which was initially caused by one of their employees.

The question here is also how many people are going to be treated the same way as I have been treated , because it seem as though their sales agent are not well trained or informed about the products they are selling.

So I feel as though I am obliged to alert other consumers out there of Elite Mobile doggy sales.
