ELITE MOBILE - MY COMPLAINT
<p>In December 2015 I was contacted by Elite Mobile and offered a product, which I accepted but which was then declined. And so I thought that was the end of it.</p> <p> </p> <p>I vaguely remember the call, I think they phoned to offer me a phone or ipad, but not sure anymore, it was so long ago. At the time, I don't think I could even afford the product.</p> <p> </p> <p>Today I queried 2 debit orders with my Bank, one for R53.00 and the other for R55.00 which were for "SERVICE AGREEMENT - SAFETY BOX AND RESCUE BOX". I haven't a clue what this even means.</p> <p> </p> <p>I had noticed these amounts coming off my account before but could never find out which company was debiting me, and as time went on, I left it and thought I would sort it out when I had time.</p> <p> </p> <p>Standard Bank investigated this morning and let me know that ELITE MOBILE had been debiting my account all this time (and this since December 2015). </p> <p> </p> <p>When I phoned ELITE MOBILE, I was told by CLARISSA MOODLEY, the consultant I spoke to, that they could not refund my money, as they don't know whether or not I have been using the Safety Box and Rescue Box. </p> <p> </p> <p>I kept telling her that I had no clue what these services were for or how to use them, that I had never asked for them etc etc, and even after her explanation, I still don't understand what the service is for.</p> <p> </p> <p>According to her, when I accepted the product, which was later declined to me, (I cannot remember what it was, perhaps a phone), I was sent sms's to the effect that I was given these 2 services as well. </p> <p> </p> <p>I said if the phone, or whatever it was I accepted, was declined, why would they continue debiting me for something I had no idea I had accepted. I asked where the debit order was that I had signed. Apparently my voice on the phone was sufficient to debit my account, it would appear, from what I understand, that a signed debit order was not necessary. So now I have lost out on this money, for something I had no idea I had accepted.</p> <p> </p> <p>I should have been more vigilent and enquired about this long ago. What I don't understand is how does a company debit me for a service, when the product was declined to me anyway. I probably could not afford it at the time, so the phone was declined but then they debit me for a service I had no use for, and did not even know I had? </p> <p> </p> <p>How does a company dip their fingers in my bank account, when I never signed a debit order?</p> <p> </p> <p>I feel I should be refunded the money they took off my account since December 2015.</p> <p> </p> <p>I am clearly a victim of my own stupidity but I feel these companies take advantage of us and have taken advantage of me.
