I have received a call from an Agent stating they are calling from Elite Mobile on behalf of Cell C.. the agent then continued to ask me if I am happy with my cell c contract to which I answered yes; she then stated that I qualify for a discount on my existing contract and that my new premium will be R149 per month instead of what I am paying now. The agent then asked me to confirm my ID and contact number which I did.. BUT then she asked me for my Acc number (this raised a red flag), luckily did I NOT provide her with my Acc number which makes me feel kind of safe but not entirely. I then phoned Cell C and they stated that they do not have any affiliations with Elite Mobile; hence my complaint. Why are you guys going around ******** people? Delete my number out of your database and if anything gets deducted off my account will I take legal action. What you guys are doing is *****.. The person contacted me from the number ********** 576.. I did lodge this with one of your call center agents and she states that you guys would've called from a private number.. my answer to her was that the agents stated that she is calling from your company and Truecaller confirmed that the number is registered to your company. Please provide me with feedback on this matter.. I did some research online and apparently am I not the only that this has happened to within this same month.
